"That nasal discharge is the part that's very contagious," said Dr. Christine Staten, with Adobe Veterinary Center. "If an infected horse has nasal discharge and then sneezes, then it can spread in the wind to other horses who breathe it in. Or another way it can spread is if someone touches the inf"We're actually advising people not to go to horse shows right now, and shows are being canceled," Dr. Christine Staten explained. "And we're recommending that people who are putting on horseshows to cancel them."
