Abstract:

A method of operating a digital media purchase system includes, within the digital media purchase system, receiving a unique promotional code from one of a plurality of consumers via a data network. The receipt is in association with a user account of the one consumer with the digital media purchase system. A database associated with the media purchase system is processed to determine particular digital media items associated with the received one promotional code. A user account of the one consumer with the media purchase system is configured to enable access to the determined particular digital media from the media purchase system.

An electrically-propelled vehicle includes a traction battery and a conductive charging pad disposed beneath the vehicle and electrically coupled to the battery. The charging pad is configured to transfer power from at least one contact extension disposed at a charge station to charge the battery. A height from ground of the charging pad is configured to cause electrical engagement of the contact extension as a result of the vehicle entering a parking space proximate the charge station.

Abstract:

Systems and methods for operating placebo-based experiments are described for online advertisements. One or more embodiments of the disclosed systems and methods utilizes an ad swapping approach to offer placebo media exposures, at no additional cost to an advertiser. One or more embodiments further provide a native experimentation platform that allows users to run tests of ad placements to measure the effectiveness of ads and view results displayed on a user interface. The disclosed systems and methods can assign viewers into a test group if shown the test ad or a control group if shown a control ad. The control ad can be provided at no cost to the advertiser for embodiments where the placebo ad belongs to an alternative advertiser. Effectiveness of third party attribution can also be evaluated. The disclosed systems and methods can define experiment parameters, including control frequency, test viewer groups, and control viewer groups.

Abstract:

A communication device (UE) conducting wired and/or wireless communications may issue service requests using zero-round-trip-time (zero-RTT) connectivity. The UE may obtain, prior to initiating an application, an address corresponding to a service and a security credential for use in accessing the service. The UE may receive, after initiating the application, an instruction to issue a service request, and generate the service request that may include a service identifier corresponding to the service, the address corresponding to the service, and the security credential for use in accessing the service. The UE may then transmit the service request to an edge server associated with the service. The edge server may route the service according to the service identifier. Multiple data centers/servers may advertise their services to the edge server associated with the service, facilitating fast routing of the service request by the edge server associated with the service.
