Abstract:

An in-floor electrical floor-box assembly includes a rectangular or nearly square metallic housing and a non-metallic riser with integral flange assembly having a rectangular flange that mates with the rectangular housing and an integral cylindrical riser for providing access to the electrical components through a round cover and finish flange. A low-voltage divider assembly separates cables carrying different voltages within the riser to reduce interference between the cables and any one of a variety of sub-plates having different configurations for accommodating a variety of multi-service or single service electrical functionality can be incorporated with the box.

Abstract:

A cover assembly includes a base, a cover and a hinge coupling the cover to the hinge. The hinge includes a body coupled to a rear face of the base and extends outwardly from a side edge of the base. The hinge has a leg oriented to contact an edge of the cover when the cover is pivoted to the open position. The edge frictionally engages the leg of the hinge to hold the cover in an open position and limit rotation of the cover.

Abstract:

A finger guard for use with an electronic device is provided for restricting physical access to a component of the electronic device having an uninsulated surface adapted to carry a voltage. The apparatus includes a housing which defines a first opening and which is adapted to mount to the electronic device so that the first opening permits passage of passive infrared energy and ambient light to the component. The apparatus further includes a projection arrangement, extending from the housing, which limits physical access to the surface of the component through the first opening, and defining a second opening through which the infrared energy can enter and pass through the first opening to the component. An electronic circuit can also be provided which limits current being provided to an uninsulated component, such as an infrared or ambient light detector of the electronic device, from a circuit of the electronic device. The apparatus includes a resistive element which couples a terminal of the uninsulated component to ground, and a capacitive element which also couples the terminal of the uninsulated component to ground.
