Abstract:

A computer receives rating information relating to proposed issuance of an insurance policy endorsement. The rating information relates to a proposed insured that employs a number of employees. The computer processes the rating information to generate a premium amount to be charged for the insurance policy endorsement. The endorsement is then issued. The endorsement may provide reimbursement to the insured for losses incurred by the insured arising from absence from work by one or more of the employees.

This application describes apparatus and methods for using edge-computing to control resource distribution among access channels, such as a retail banking center. Edge-nodes may be configured to move a product display in response to detected or expected customer traffic flow in or near a retail location. Edge-nodes may be configured to redirect resources provided by a cloud computing environment to or away from the retail location. Based on customer traffic flow, edge-nodes may direct customers/resources to a retail location and ensure the retail location provides a predetermined quality of service.

Abstract:

A mobile device is configurable to accommodate multiple personas and associated profiles. Once the mobile device is triggered to configure itself with a selected persona/profile, no more information is required by a user (the provider of the trigger) of the mobile device. Each persona/profile is autonomous from any other persona/profile with which the mobile device can be configured. A persona is indicative of a personality, role, or identity portrayed by the device, such as a phone number, for example. A profile is indicative of functions associated with a persona. The mobile device is easily reconfigured via simple UI operations.
