Abstract:

A wiper system for a vehicle includes a frame supported by the vehicle and a wiper motor supported by the frame. The wiper system further includes a wiper arm coupled to the wiper motor and configured to be driven by the wiper motor to move in a reciprocating pattern. A water blocking member is wrapped around a portion of the frame to prevent water running along the frame from reaching the wiper motor. The blocking member is flexible and has separate free ends to enable assembly with the frame. A method of assembling the wiper system includes pressing the water blocker onto the frame at a location away from spaced apart ends of the frame.

Abstract:

A system for dipping workpieces into a coating tank that includes a conveyor disposed above the tank and a workpiece carrier movable on the conveyor along a path above the tank. The carrier includes a box frame having pivotal corner connections and vertically spaced guide rollers disposed on laterally opposed sides of the frame. Longitudinally spaced cables suspend the carrier frame from winches on the conveyor for selectively raising and lowering the carrier with respect to the conveyor. The winches and cables are also selectively operable for rocking the carrier frame about a horizontal axis lateral to the path of travel along the conveyor. A pair of track rails are disposed in fixed position on laterally opposed sides of the conveyor for engaging the guide rollers on laterally opposed sides of the carrier frame during lowering of the frame into the tank and maintaining horizontal position of the carrier frame during rocking thereof within the tank.

Abstract:

A ball joint () includes a socket assembly () that provides a locking feature designed to work in combination with the ball stud to retain a rotatable connection between the ball stud () and the ball socket. The socket assembly includes a socket housing () and an elastic retaining member () that cooperate to prevent ball stud disengagement under operating loads. The socket housing includes a sidewall () that has an extended length relative to some conventional socket housings, and the elastic member is disposed in a circumferential groove formed in an outer surface of the ball socket at a location corresponding to the extended length.
