A polymeric furanone magenta colorant is disclosed that contains a furanone magenta chromophore having a furanone adduct, the adduct containing at least one alkoxylated phenyl radical, the chromophore further being derived from at least one aromatic aldehyde having a para-nitrogen and containing electron donating groups selected from the group consisting of alkyls, cycloalkyls, and oligomers or polymers derived from alkyleneoxy or aryleneoxy moieties. The colorant can be utilized in resins, waxes and inks.
A phase change ink carrier composition comprising at least one anhydride/amino alcohol based adduct which is a reaction product of at least one anhydride and at least one amino alcohol, wherein the reaction product is an ester material or an amide material, but not an ester-amide material.
Isocyanate-Derived Materials For Use In Phase Change Ink Jet Inks
Resins and waxes made by reacting selected nucleophiles, including alcohols and/or amines, with an isocyanate are disclosed. The order of addition of the isocyanate and the different nucleophiles can tailor the distribution of di-urethane, mixed urethane/urea, and/or di-urea molecules in the final resin product. The isocyanate-derived resin and wax materials are useful as ingredients as phase change ink carrier compositions used to make phase change ink jet inks.

Abstract:
Phase change ink additives are disclosed which comprise quaternary ammonium salts that are extremely useful in producing phase change inks with increased specific conductance. Suitable and adjustable specific conductance is necessary for reliable functioning of electronic type ink level sensing systems used in phase change ink jet printers. Phase change inks may also be encoded for type by virtue of their specific conductance.
