Abstract:

A personal aid including a handheld housing sized to be readily carried by a user. The housing includes a storage compartment comprising an enclosure shaped and dimensioned for the selective placement of an article therein and a closure positioned adjacent the enclosure for selectively covering the enclosure so as to maintain an article therein. An electronic assistant is integrated with the housing. The electronic assistant is linked to a smart card holder in which a smart card is positioned to provide functionality to the electronic assistant.

Abstract:

The invention relates to an electronic compass adapted for providing users with an audible indication of direction. The compass includes a housing assembly having a speaker for providing a user with information concerning the orientation of the housing assembly relative to the earths magnetic field. The compass further includes a Hall Effect detector for determining the orientation of the housing assembly relative to the Earths magnetic field and a translator for translating the orientation data relating to the position of the housing assembly relative to the earths magnetic field into an auditory signal which is transmitted to the speaker assembly for translation into an audible signal providing a user with audible instructions regarding the orientation of the housing assembly.

Abstract:

An LED diffusion assembly having a concave tip portion shaped and dimensioned for the diffusion of light emitted thereby. The assembly includes a bulb portion and first and second leads extending within the bulb shaped portion. The assembly also includes LED dice embedded in the bulb shaped portion and coupled to the first and second leads in a manner allowing for transfer of electrical energy to the LED dice. The bulb portion includes a concave tip substantially opposite the LED dice, wherein the concave tip is shaped and dimensioned for diffusing light emitted by the LED dice.

Abstract:

A grip for displaying information on sports equipment having a gripping end includes a bottom layer overlaying the gripping end, an intermediate layer having textual information or a design placed thereon, and a substantially transparent top layer overlaying the intermediate and bottom layers. The intermediate layer faces outwardly from the bottom layer such that the information is visible, and is protected from damage by the top layer. Integral rib and groove structures may be used to assist in securing the top and bottom layers to one another. A weighted end cap may assist in providing a balanced feel to the equipment.

Abstract:

A grip for sporting equipment is provided having an elongated strip adapted for wrapping the gripping end of the equipment and a locking mechanism. The locking mechanism includes locking structures, typically ribs and grooves disposed on the elongated strip side edges. Wrapping the elongated strip around the gripping end places the adjoining first and second locking structures in a partially overlapped and facing orientation for cooperative interlocking thereof to secure the adjoining side edges, defining a hollow sleeve adapted to receive the gripping end in an interior thereof.
