Abstract:
A system to detect a network deficiency, in one example embodiment, comprises a receiving module to receive utilization metrics of at least one network resource, wherein the utilization metrics are collected and made available at a network level, an aggregator to aggregate the utilization metrics of at least one network resource with the utilization metrics of a plurality of the network resources, a processing module to determine a level of aggregated utilization metrics of the network resources, and a detecting module to detect a precursor indicative of a network traffic deterioration based on the level of the aggregated utilization metrics.

Abstract:
A method and system receives at a server a search request and processes the search request to determine a context of the search request, then determines, based on the context, a network route to an application server having the closest geographic proximity, with respect to the server, to the most relevant database associated with the context.

Abstract:
Techniques are presented for indefinite caching expiration techniques. A browser page includes a reference to an object. A client browser acquires a version of the browser page on each access attempt by the client to a site associated with the browser page. The browser acquires or downloads the object (along with perhaps a maximum value for the expiration header equivalent to an indefinite expiry) into client cache via the reference on a first access attempt of the browser page and subsequently does not re-request the object from the site; rather, when the object changes the browser page is updated with a new name for the object thereby forcing the browser to re-request and re-acquire the object on demand and just when the object is modified.

Abstract:
Embodiments of a method and system for gateway communication are disclosed. A rate evaluator may be configured to receive a call packet. A quality of service (QOS) specification regarding routing of a local request may be generated for an application according to a business policy. The QOS specification may be available for receipt. A first service gateway may be in communication with the rate evaluator and located in a data center. The first service gateway may be configured to receive the local request from a client machine located in the data center and generate and provide the call packet for the local request to the rate evaluator. The first service gateway may be further configured to receive the QOS specification from the rate evaluator, and route the local request according to the QOS specification to a second service gateway not in the data center.

Abstract:
Embodiments of a system and method manage a configuration of a plurality of content switching devices in a networked system by generating a first configuration data file and translating the first configuration data file into one or more device specific configuration data files, each device specific configuration file corresponding to a device type of the one or more content switching devices. Some embodiments of the system and method then communicate the one or more device specific configuration data files to each content switching device of a corresponding device type to configure each content switching device.

Abstract:
A provisioning machine may receive a request that an application be executed while distributed according to a distribution constraint among various devices. The provisioning machine may access a topological model that represents multiple devices configured as a single cloud-based application server and defines a first group of devices that have the same redundancy status (e.g., active or backup). In addition, the topological model may define a second group of devices that have the same functional role (e.g., executing a particular component of the application). A device may be a member of both the first group and the second group. The provisioning machine may determine a size of the first group according to the distribution constraint. Based on the determined size of the first group, the provisioning machine may configure (e.g., provision) the first group of devices as a subset of the multiple devices of the server.

Abstract:
An outdoor item such as a sleeping bag, jacket, hat or blanket with one or more ventilation/temperature adjustment openings. Each ventilation/temperature adjustment opening includes a fastening mechanism that when opened, an opening is formed in the outer layer and insulative material/layer of the sleeping bag but not in the inner layer, allowing the outdoor item to vent better, thereby cooling an occupant using or wearing the outdoor item thereby offering temperature regulation.
