Dan Winters, head of developer relations at Activision, says the company hasn't changed since its merger with Blizzard led to it becoming the world's largest third party publisher, but he acknowledges that being No.1 has created something of an image problem.
Most of the press (myself included) assumed that this meant Guitar Hero was finished, but now Activision is clearing the air. In an interview with GamesIndustry.biz, Activision's head of developer relations, Dan Winters, clarified that the series is on "hiatus."
A few days later, Activision CEO Bobby Kotick said the publisher could bring the series back one day if the circumstances were right, although he made it clear that it wasn't a priority. But "could" is apparently now "will," according to Dan Winters, Activision's vice president of developer relations, and the only question is one of timing.
