AHS Makes Changes to Policy after Euthanization Outcry
Daniel Dockery brought Scruffy the cat to the Humane Society after getting tangled in barbed wire. Her wound was described as "a very serious cut on Scruffy from her abdomen to her knee that went to the muscle." The agency said it would cost $400 to treat Scruffy, money he didn't have.
The Arizona Republic reports (http://bit.ly/tNzWqN ) that Daniel Dockery's 9-month-old cat, Scruffy, was put down not because of cuts it got from a fence but because the 49-year-old Phoenix man couldn't immediately pay $400 for its care.
