Abstract:

The present invention relates to an antenna which is physically combined with a physical/electrical media connector. Some embodiments of the present invention may be configured with connectors which can accommodate RJ-11 or RJ-45 plugs allowing devices equipped with these connectors to utilize cable connections as well as wireless connections via the combined antenna. Some embodiments of the present invention comprise antennas which hinge or otherwise deploy from the combined connector/antenna unit and some embodiments include automatic activation of wireless circuitry when the antenna is deployed. Certain embodiments also comprise units with particular antenna and ground plane configurations.

Abstract:

The present invention relates to an antenna which is configured to plug into a retractable connector on an electronic apparatus. Some embodiments of the present invention may be configured to plug into common RJ-11 or RJ-45 jacks allowing devices equipped with these jack to utilize external antennas to increase range and functionality. Further, some embodiments of the present invention comprise at least a partial ground plane located in the antenna plug which connects to a jack. The present invention also comprises connectors such as RJ jacks which comprise ground plane elements which may be used to improve antenna range and efficiency.

Abstract:

An integrated diversity antenna solution is presented that positions multiple antennas within the digital device case. The integrated diversity antenna solution works equally well with diversity radios, such as 802. 11, and non-diversity radios, such as Bluetooth. The non-diversity radios are supported via a power splitter attached to the antennas that give the necessary directional coverage. The integrated antenna array solves the main problem associated with wireless communication on laptop computers, specifically, that laptops perturb the radiation pattern because of the influence that laptop components have on standard antennas and the presence of interfering objects, most notably the laptop user, in the surrounding environment.

Abstract:

A method for recovering noble metal from scrap generated during the manufacture of noble metal units. The method includes providing a cast metal unit such as a dental crown or a jewelry item. The unit is made of some noble metal. The surface of the unit is prepared with an abrading element. A magnetically attractive particulate contaminated scrap is generated. The scrap includes some noble metal and particulate contaminate. The noble metal is magnetically separated from the contaminate. The system includes an abrading element and a rotary tool for operating the element at a speed sufficient to prepare the surface of the units. A collection unit is provided for operation of the element therein. The scrap generated includes a percentage of magnetically attractive contaminate. A refining unit is provided including a magnet positioned therein for magnetically removing the contaminate from the scrap.

Abstract:

An apparatus and system for providing wireless communication for a portable computer system. In one embodiment, the present invention is a wireless communication apparatus. The wireless communication apparatus is adapted to be communicatively coupled to a portable computer system. In the present embodiment, the apparatus is comprised of a PCB (printed circuit board). Abstract:

An investment company receives funds from a plurality of unaffiliated capital markets investors. The investors receiving in return a debt claim against the investment company. The investment company invests a substantial majority of the invested funds from the investment company directly into operating companies as debt obligations of the operating companies for essentially unrestricted use by the operating companies, the terms providing at least one year of relief from repayment of the debt. The investment company receives a security interest in substantially all assets of the operating companies. Out of the invested funds, the investment company purchases an insurance policy for the benefit of the investors. The insurance policy covers the investment company against default by the operating companies and insures repayment to the investor of the funds invested. The insurer of the insurance policy receives benefit of debt and equity interests in the operating companies.

Abstract:

An improved miniature hand-held low power transmitter utilizing a surface acoustic wave (SAW) resonator as the control element to establish the carrier frequency of the oscillator. The SAW resonator stabilizes the frequency of the transmitter to within 0. 05% of the center frequency of the SAW resonator for the condition of the user's hand enclosing the transmitter. This stability allows the companion receiver to operate at a narrow bandwidth, 0. 1% of the center frequency of the SAW resonator, thus reducing the spurious noise received by the receiver. The configuration of the transmitter allows schemes such as pulse position or pulse width modulation to be utilized to encode the transmitted information. The physical size of the SAW resonator allows the transmitter to be mounted within a housing small enough to be enclosed by the user's hand.
