Abstract:

An enhancement for a peristaltic pump that, in a particular embodiment, can be a thin concave spring member or other mechanism with at least one tubing notch adapted to be mounted on a peristaltic pump frame such that peristaltic pump tubing can pass through a notch in the spring member, through the peristaltic pump and through a notch in a similar thin concave spring member mounted on an opposite side of said peristaltic pump so that the spring members prevent tube-stretching or deformation of the tubing. Numerous other embodiments are possible. All of the embodiments allow attaching a first and second notched spring-clamp or other tubing holder onto the input and output sides of a peristaltic pump frame; threading peristaltic pump tubing through a notch or other part in a first spring-clamp or tubing holder, through the peristaltic pump and through a notch or other part in a second spring-clamp or tubing holder.

An optical cell provides a measuring chamber which is L-shaped with an absorbance optical path lying along the horizontal leg of the L. The invention is a method and apparatus for extracting and analyzing features in real time from primary or secondary ignition waveforms, including engine probes, sampling device, and a processor that extracts from the waveform features such as peak firing height, firing line duration, firing line slope, firing line noise, post firing line duration, primary oscillations, and dwell interval duration and compares them against fixed thresholds and running averages to detect anomalies. A method and a kit for oil removal or injection into the oil pan of a vehicle, marine or aircraft engine. A modified dip stick tube or other access tube extends to the bottom of the oil pan has at least one or more openings at its bottom end to allow oil to enter or exit. The top has an air-tight seal that can be attached to a flexible tube that can be run to a peristaltic pump. The pump can have an exit tube that runs into an oil recovery receptacle. After draining, the oil, the tube can be valved or physically relocated to a fresh oil source. The direction of rotation of the pump can be reversed to fill the oil pan with fresh oil. An electric control can run the pump in both a forward and reverse direction typically from a vehicle battery voltage source.
