Abstract:

This invention relates to outdoor advertising and, more particularly, to methods, systems and apparatus for providing branded parking spaces. The invention includes using a standard parking space as an advertising space that creates an opportunity for advertisers to reach customers with branded messages at a place where they park a vehicle, creating an out-of-home advertising venue. The parking space can have an advertising message applied to it, such as on a sign placed within the parking space, adjacent to the parking space or in an area between two adjacent parking spaces. The advertising message can also be applied to the asphalt or concrete within the parking space, adjacent to the parking space or in an area between two adjacent parking spaces. The advertising message can also be applied to a canopy, overhang or ceiling that is within the parking space, adjacent to the parking space or in an area between two adjacent parking spaces. An agency or organization, such as an advertising media company obtains permission to apply an advertising message to one or more parking spaces. The advertising media company obtains an advertising message from or creates an advertising message for an advertiser, and in exchange for consideration, applies the advertising message to the parking space. The advertising media company can apply the advertising message to the parking space in accordance with a predefined arrangement between the advertising media company and the advertiser. The advertising media company can apply different advertising messages to a given parking space over a period time. The advertising message can be incorporated in a changeable form, such as a sign or an electronic display that is capable of displaying more than one advertising message. The advertising message can be transmitted to an available display device within a vehicle using wireless communication systems.

Abstract:

A system for monitoring level of material in a vessel that includes a transducer for transmitting an ultrasonic signal toward and receiving an echo signal from a surface of the material, and a power switch coupled to the transducer for energizing the transducer to transmit the ultrasonic signal. A microprocessor-based controller has an output coupled to the power switch for controlling operation thereof. The output of the microprocessor provides a pulsed periodic signal to the power switch at controllably variable frequency, duty cycle and/or total burst duration to operate the transducer at an ultrasonic frequency that corresponds to the periodic signal frequency, duty cycle and burst duration. The echo signals are compared to successive thresholds between the transmission bursts, and echo signal data is sampled and stored in the microprocessor over a measurement cycle that includes multiple transmission bursts. The true echo signal from the material surface is distinguished from pulse echo signals as a combined function of amplitude and time duration data so stored.

Abstract:

An interactive system includes a database for storing information including an identification and a location of a parcel, a server connected to the database for accessing information about parcels stored in the database and one or more user devices connected to the server over a network such as the internet. The interactive system can present to the user of the user device a virtual world that includes one or more parcels. Each parcel can be associated with one or more elements of content (e.g., text, audio and or video) and/or a coupon enabling the user to purchase a real object or thing (e.g., a cup of coffee, dinner at a restaurant, theater tickets, etc.). The parcel can include a plurality of attributes that device how each user can interact with the parcel, for example whether a user can take possession of the parcel and view its content or redeem the coupon.
