Abstract:
A temperature sensor assembly and method of manufacturing thereof having a temperature probe, a mounting connector, a wire set, a transition component, a housing, and a circuit is provided. The temperature probe includes a probe body, a temperature sensor and at least one conductor configured for providing a temperature signal indicative of a temperature over the at least one conductor. The circuit is enclosed within the housing and configured for receiving the temperature signal from the temperature probe and generating the temperature characteristic in response to the received temperature signal.

Abstract:
A contact-type surface temperature probe which has a generally uniform thermocouple junction. The thermocouple junction is formed by joining each of the thermocouple elements or materials directly to an electrically conductive spring flexure, thus eliminating the need for having to form the thermocouple materials directly to each other. As a result, the thermocouple junction of the present invention has a more uniform or smooth contour for better contact with the surface without having to remove burrs or other non-uniformities.
A surface temperature sensor includes a thermally conductive surface contact means for contacting a surface to be thermally measured and a coil. The coil contains an insulated thermal sensing element in thermal contact with the surface contact means and provides support for the surface contact means.
Surface Temperature Probe With Uniform Thermocouple Junction And Overtravel Protection
A contact-type surface temperature probe which has a spring flexure for providing a spring force in relation to a surface to be measured. The spring flexure undergoes deflection when pressed against the surface. The probe also has at least one mechanical stop which limits the amount of travel of the spring flexure.

Abstract:
An exhaust gas heating unit for an engine includes a housing and a heating element. The housing includes a tubular peripheral wall and has an interior hollow space. The heating element has first and second ends and extends longitudinally therebetween to form a spiral shape within the interior hollow space. The heating element includes a thermally conductive sheath, an electrically conductive resistance element that extends longitudinally within the external sheath, and an electrically insulating material disposed about the resistance element between the resistance element and the sheath. A heat transfer member is positioned within the interior hollow space and is formed from one or more strips of thermally conductive material. The strips contact the external sheath at a plurality of locations between the first end and the second end. The heat transfer member has a corrugated shape that follows the spiral shape of the heating element.
