Abstract:
A simplified color printing system and method is disclosed in which the printing system has a single applicator that is supplied with toner fluids or inks of different colors. The printing system is simplified by having a single pump employed in association with the applicator. Use of a single pump is made possible, because during a color change the pump and applicator are purged with air both before and after a wash fluid is circulated. The single pump is used to pump both the imaging fluids and the air. The present invention has application in both color electrostatic printers and copiers, and in color ink-jet printers.

Abstract:
An assembly for mounting a roll of paper or Mylar. RTM. film having a hollow core includes a radially expanding core insert at each end of the roll and a core insert support, mountable to a support structure, to support, position and apply a drag force to the paper roll. Each core insert has a radially expandable inner end which is expanded within the core to secure the insert in place. The outer end of the core insert extends beyond the edge of the paper roll. The core insert support includes a pair of arcuate contact surfaces and an adjustable spring biased brake shoe mounted to a frame. The brake shoe presses the outer end of the core insert against the contact surfaces to create a suitable drag on the paper roll. A flipper is pivotally mounted to the frame for movement between free movement and blocking positions to permit or prevent the core inserts from being removed from the core insert supports. Each flipper also axially biases the core insert towards the other flipper.

Abstract:
Embodiments in accordance with the present disclosure are directed to configuring an analyzer apparatus for processing a particular sample-processing cartridge. The analyzer apparatus includes a portable container and sample-specific configuration circuitry. The portable container supports and integrates a sample-processing cartridge and the sample-specific configuration circuitry. The sample-specific configuration circuitry identifies configuration information specific to the sample-processing cartridge and configures the analyzer apparatus for a series of state configurations. The configuration can be performed by selecting which of a plurality of biological-sample stimulators to interact with the biological sample, identifying positions in the portable container for each of the selected ones of the plurality of biological-sample stimulators at different times, and while the selected ones of the plurality of biological-sample stimulators are in the identified positions, causing the interactions between the selected ones of the plurality of biological-sample stimulators and the biological sample.
