Abstract:

This invention relates to monovalent and multivalent, monospecific antibodies and to monovalent and multivalent, multispecific antibodies. One embodiment of these antibodies has one or more identical binding sites where each binding site binds with a target antigen or an epitope on a target antigen. Another embodiment of these antibodies has two or more binding sites where these binding sites have affinity towards different epitopes on a target antigen or different target antigens, or have affinity towards a target antigen and a hapten. The present invention further relates to recombinant vectors useful for the expression of these functional antibodies in a host. More specifically, the present invention relates to the tumor-associated antibody designated PAM4. The invention further relates to chimeric PAM4 antibodies, and the use of such antibodies in diagnosis and therapy.

Abstract:

Described herein are compositions and methods of use of anti-pancreatic cancer antibodies or fragments thereof, such as murine, chimeric, humanized or human PAM4 antibodies. The subject antibodies show a number of novel and useful therapeutic characteristics, such as binding with high specificity to pancreatic and other cancers, but not to normal or benign pancreatic tissues and binding to a high percentage of early stage pancreatic cancers. In preferred embodiments, the antibodies bind to pancreatic cancer mucins. The antibodies and fragments are of use for the detection, diagnosis and/or treatment of cancer, such as pancreatic cancer. The antibodies, such as PAM4 antibodies, bind to a PAM4 antigen that shows unique cell and tissue distributions compared with other known antibodies such as CA19. 9, DUPAN2, SPAN1, Nd2, B72. 3, and Leand Le(y) antibodies that bind to the Lewis antigens.

Abstract:

An undergarment that retains urine and other body fluids comprises an upper, or body, portion made of a knitted fabric, and a lower, or crotch, portion made of a woven, non-woven or knitted fabric. The crotch portion is coated with a modified polyester urethane polymer which prevents passage of body fluids, yet allows for some of the body condensate to escape by moisture vapor transmission. Because the crotch material is coated, rather than laminated, the garment body and crotch portion can be assembled without using special sewing needles, methods or speeds.
