Abstract:

DAN (Differential-screening-selected gene Aberrative in Neuroblastoma) and gremlin proteins and related nucleic acids are provided. Included are natural DAN and gremlin homologs from several species and proteins comprising a DAN or gremlin domain having specific activity, particularly the ability to antagonize a bone morphogenic protein. The proteins may be produced recombinantly from transformed host cells with the subject nucleic acids. Also provided are isolated hybridization probes and primers capable of specifically hybridizing with the disclosed genes, specific binding agents and methods of making and using the subject compositions.

Abstract:

Methods and systems for wireless communication are disclosed and may include controlling a loading and/or a charging of a battery source in each earpiece of the wireless stereo headset. The loading control may include switching between the battery sources powering the headset. A remaining power level may be monitored for each of the battery sources. Both earpieces in the headset may be powered utilizing one or both of the battery sources. One of the earpieces in the headset may be powered utilizing one of the battery sources. A total usage time may be stored for each of the battery sources. The loading and charging of the battery sources may be controlled by equalizing the total usage time for each of the battery sources. The earpieces in the headset may be coupled via a tether line, or may be coupled wirelessly.

Methods and systems for wireless headset instant on capability during battery charging are disclosed and may include powering a wireless headset so that it may be operable to transmit/receive wireless signals during charging. The headset may be powered via an external charger and may be coupled to the headset via a USB link. The headset may be powered via one or more internal batteries, and may be independent of a power level of the batteries within the headset. RF and baseband circuitry may be powered for transmitting/receiving wireless signals during charging. The headset may utilize USB power management, and may manage discharge of power from a plurality of internal batteries. The batteries may be decoupled from circuits that enable transmitting/receiving wireless signals during charging. The headset may be powered via the charging device so that the headset may be operable to generate output audio signals during charging.

Abstract:

Methods and systems that use a simple hardware circuit and/or digital logic solution to identify and remove both positive and negative glitches from a signal. For this hardware circuit and/or digital logic solution, a glitch is referred to as an unwanted pulse with a width less than a specified duration, and is generally caused by noise or improper operation by other devices. A positive glitch occurs when the input signal has been logic low for some time, while a negative glitch occurs when the input signal has been logic high for some time. In one embodiment, the hardware circuit and/or digital logic solution removes noises from signals transmitted between a digital circuit and its switches and/or remote sensors, such as switches of keyboards and mice.

Abstract:

Bioabsorbable, water-soluble hemostatic cellulose based gauze matrix structures are described, including one or more species of chitosan, etherized cellulose, nonionic surfactant, water-soluble polysaccharide hydrocolloid and/or gum. Approximately 85% to 95% deacetylated decrystallized chitosan, present in an amount from about 2% to about 15% by weight, is found to be particularly advantageous. Favorable properties are found related to rapid stoppage of bleeding and bioabsorbability, among other properties.
