Abstract:

A magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) method is disclosed for generating and identifying water and fat separated MR images. Image data is first acquired to obtain two echo images with the water and fat signals orthogonal in the first echo image, and parallel/anti-parallel in the second echo image. The effect of background field inhomogeneties are removed, and water and fat images are separated from each other. The separated water and fat images are identified according to the difference of their precessing frequencies.

Abstract:

A method and a system for acquiring diffusion magnetic resonance images with compensation of the effects of eddy currents induced by the diffusion weighting (DW) gradient pulses. Prescan data are first acquired using the same DW sequence to be used for imaging. The prescan data are used to obtain eddy current parameters that model the effects of DW-induced eddy currents under the exact conditions under which DW images are to be acquired. The DW imaging sequence is then slightly modified according to the eddy current parameters and used to acquire DW image data with the effects of DW-induced eddy currents compensated.

Abstract:

In preferred embodiments, a fast spin echo imaging technique is provided that is insensitive to violations of the Carr Purcell Meiboom Gill (CPMG) condition. Diffusion gradients disrupt the CPMG condition, and, hence, the present fast spin echo method is compatible with diffusion measurements and diffusion weighted imaging. The preferred embodiments of the present technique involve splitting of spin echoes into echo pairs. Spin echoes are split by adjustment (in magnitude or duration) of an initial readout gradient pulse. A train of echo pairs is captured. A first image is constructed using the first echoes of each pair. Also, a second image is constructed using the second echoes of each pair. Hybrid radial Cartesian methods are used for constructing the first and second images. The first and second images are constructed independently of one another.

Abstract:

A method and system for configuring information for a distributed computing environment is provided. The method and system comprises providing a job containing a list of tasks to a controller, the tasks including a bootstrap tool and configuration information related to the computer network. The method and system also comprises providing a task to each of a plurality of agents on the distributed computer network, each task being based on one of the tasks of the job. The method and system further comprises executing code by each of the plurality of agents based upon the tasks process, wherein the code provides configuration information for a master process and a plurality of slave processes within the distributed computer network. The present invention allows processes run on a distributed set of computers to be provided with appropriate configuration files without requiring the master node to pre-generate those files ahead of time. Specifically, the invention generates the configuration files on the computers that will host the processes.

Abstract:

Systems and methods for resource management are provided. In one implementation a computing system is provided. The computing system includes a controller having an associated information base; the information base including a plurality of resource definitions, a partition definition defining a plurality of partitions, and a plurality of queues. Each partition includes a grouping of one or more resources available to process user jobs and each partition has a name. At least one queue of the plurality of queues is associated with each partition in the partition definition. The controller includes an administrative interface for managing partitions, resources and queues and an authorization routine operable to receive named jobs, a named job identifying a partition in the partition definition, and assign named jobs to an associated partition queue for processing by one of the resources in an associated grouping of one or more resources.

Abstract:

A locking mechanism to minimize access to a portion of a rack-mounted electronic device is provided. The locking mechanism includes a bar supported at one end to a first vertical post of the rack, and a locking member supported at a second end of the bar for locking to a second vertical post. In one embodiment, the bar is pivotally supported at the one end to the first post. The bar is movable between an open position where unimpeded access to a first portion of the electronic device is provided, and a closed position to restrict removal of components from the first portion of the electronic device. A clearance space may provided between the bar and the electronic device in the closed position to allow a user to access an electronic component to remove power from the component, but not to fully remove the component without unlocking the locking member.
