Abstract:

A virtual reassembly system for use with a fast pattern processor and a method of operating the same. In one embodiment, the virtual reassembly system includes a first pass subsystem configured to convert a packet of a protocol data unit into at least one processing block, queue the at least one processing block based upon a header of the packet and determine if the packet is a last packet of the protocol data unit. The virtual reassembly system further includes a second pass subsystem configured to virtually reassemble the protocol data unit by retrieving the at least one processing block based upon the queue.

Abstract:

A solenoid operated spool valve has a dampening reservoir formed at one end of the spool and which is ported for immersion in a fluid sump. The reservoir port is oriented vertically above the spool and a cap with an offset port is received over the reservoir port to baffle fluid flow from the reservoir and prevent the reservoir from draining when the port is fluid starved in the sump.

Initial cell voltages are reduced by decreasing the resistance of the diaphragm through a degassing procedure prior to or at installation thereof. This degassing procedure involves subjecting the diaphragm to subatmospheric pressure while contacting the diaphragm with electrolyte, said electrolyte being an aqueous saline solution having a surface active agent therein in an amount sufficient to reduce the surface tension below the critical surface tension for wetting the fibers, and increasing the pressure to atmospheric or cell working pressure to force electrolyte solution into the interstices of the diaphragm.

Abstract:

A coating for sealing carbon-carbon composites against hydrogen. The coating comprises a first layer of silicon carbide and a second layer of a glass, glass-ceramic or a low-melting-point metal such as tin or an alloy thereof. Particularly when such second layer is a glass, e. g. an SiO. sub. 2 -containing glass, or a glass-ceramic, preferably the silicon carbide coating is pretreated, e. g. by oxidation thereof to form a thin layer of SiO. sub. 2 prior to application of the glass layer. The glass layer can be an SiO. sub. 2 glass formed by sputtering or by decomposition of tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS) applied to the oxidized silicon carbide coating. An alkali metal oxide, e. g. Na. sub. 2 O, or an alkaline earth metal oxide, e. g. BaO, can be added to the SiO. sub. 2 glass.

Abstract:

A method of preventing a vacuum from developing in a low-pressure area of a vehicle anti-lock brake system comprises providing periodically opening normally closed electromagnet valves when brakes are not applied, the valves connecting wheel brakes to a tandem master cylinder by low pressure lines passing through the low-pressure area. As a result, pressures in a tandem master cylinder of the system and the low-pressure area level off and thus a vacuum trapped in the low-pressure area is eliminated.
