Abstract:

Low-energy hydrogen production is disclosed. A reforming exchanger is placed in parallel with a partial oxidation reactor in a new hydrogen plant with improved efficiency and reduced steam export, or in an existing hydrogen plant where the hydrogen capacity can be increased by as much as 20–30 percent with reduced export of steam from the hydrogen plant.

The reactor can alter the conversion of ammonia by controlling the reaction temperature of the exothermic reaction along the length of the reactor to parallel the equilibrium curve for the desired product. The reactor can comprise a shell and internal catalyst tubes. The feed gas stream enters the reactor, flows through the shell , and is heated by indirect heat exchange with the catalyst tubes. The catalyst tubes comprise reactive zones having catalyst and reaction limited zones that can comprise inert devices that function to both separate the reactive zones, increase heat transfer area, and reduce the temperature of the reaction mixture as the effluent passes through the catalyst tube.

A memory interface device, system, method, and design structure for controlling for variable impedance and voltage in a memory system are provided. The memory interface device includes a calibration cell configurable to adjust an output impedance relative to an external reference resistor, and driver circuitry including multiple positive drive circuits and multiple negative drive circuits coupled to a driver output in a memory system. The memory interface device further includes impedance control logic to adjust the output impedance of the calibration cell and selectively enable the positive and negative drive circuits as a function of a drive voltage and a target impedance.
