Abstract:

A lacrosse head () with a substantially narrow pocket and lower manufacturing costs is provided. In one embodiment, this lacrosse head () includes a one-piece integral frame element () comprised of a base portion (), a pair of sidewalls () diverging from the base portion (), and a scoop portion () connecting the sidewalls () opposite the base portion (). This lacrosse head () further includes a pair of flaps () coupled to the sidewalls () by an overmolding process. These flaps () extend inwardly and rearwardly from their respective sidewalls () toward a centerline () of the lacrosse head (). Each flap () has a series of holes () formed therein for receiving a netting () and attaching the netting () thereto. As a result, these flaps () narrow the width of the pocket and decrease lateral ball movement within the lacrosse head ().

Abstract:

A lacrosse stick with replaceable modular handle sections includes a sectional handle, an interlocking mechanism for the sectional handle, and a head. The sectional handle includes an upper elongate section having both a top end and a locking bottom end and a lower elongate section having both a locking top end and a bottom end. The interlocking mechanism serves to interlock the locking bottom end of the upper elongate section with the locking top end of the lower elongate section. The head is mounted on the top end of the upper elongate section and includes both a closed-loop frame and a net suspended substantially within the confines of the frame. The interlocking mechanism can be unlocked so that either the upper elongate section or the lower elongate section of the sectional handle may be replaced as desired in a modular fashion with a substitutive elongate section.

A protective sports glove for the game of lacrosse having a cuff portion, a hand portion, a plurality of finger portions, and a thumb portion. The hand portion has a palm portion and a back portion. The back portion has a plurality of protective padded portions disposed thereon. A wrist guard is elastically coupled to the hand portion. A plurality of vent openings are formed in the back portion of the hand portion. Abstract:

An improved head for a lacrosse stick having ridges extending along the exterior surface of the lip and depressions extending inwardly from the interior surface of the lip adapted to protect the lacings from abrasive contact with the ground and the ball. The ridges flank each aperture on the lip through which the lacings are thread. The depressions abut each aperture on the lip and are recessed from the apertures to the backlip portion. Ball retaining ridges extend along the interior surface of the sidewalls and serve to direct and retain the ball within the ball pocket.

A lacrosse handle having two sidewalls each with a channel and two arched walls extending between the sidewalls is disclosed herein. The channels contribute to increased gripping ability by the user and overall increased strength of the handle. Each channel is capable of receiving an insert that includes individualized information, for example, a school name or colors. Further, one of the arched walls may have a textured surface and the other arched wall may have a smooth surface to provide the user with a more accurate handle to head orientation than conventional lacrosse handles.

Abstract:

A protective sports glove consisting of a padded outer glove and an inner form-fitting glove. The padded outer glove is similar to conventional protective gloves used in contact sports, but having a substantial portion of the palm removed (i. e. except for the finger palm portions). The smaller form-fitting glove is introduced to the wearer's hand prior to insertion within the padded outer glove and covers the cutout palm portion of the padded outer glove. In essence, the form-fitting glove acts as the palm portion for the padded outer glove.
