A detector or sensor including a transistor having a sensor element that generates a current when exposed to a stimulus such as light or a chemical, in one implementation, the sensor element is positioned between a transistor gate and a transistor channel. When the sensor element is not being exposed to the stimulus, the transistor outputs a first voltage on a transistor drain contact when the transistor inverts. When the sensor element is being exposed to the stimulus, the transistor outputs a second voltage on the transistor drain contact when the transistor inverts, where the second voltage is higher than the first voltage.
A technique for classifying lesions as malignant or benign is disclosed. The technique can include: cooling an area of skin including a lesion of a patient to initiate a warm-up process; receiving a temporal sequence of thermal images of the area of skin representing a thermal recovery of the area of skin, the temporal sequence of thermal images generated by an infrared camera; generating a temporal profile of the thermal recovery based on the temporal sequence of thermal images; analyzing temporal statistical properties of the temporal profile; determining a malignancy probability that the lesion is malignant based on an analysis of the temporal profile, wherein the determining includes extracting one or more statistical features based on continuous-time stochastic signals in the sequence of thermal images; and classifying the lesion based on the malignancy probability.

Abstract:
Apparatus, systems, and methods relate to use of a time-varying bias for application to an avalanche photodiode. Embodiments include systems and methods of determining an appropriate time-varying bias for application to an avalanche photodiode in linear mode. Avalanche photodiode having appropriate parameters may also be determined. Additional apparatus, systems, and methods are disclosed.

Detective: The place where Pedro Hernandez said he dumped Etan Patz's body ...
Det. David Ramirez made the admission during cross-examination after prosecutors played a 2012 video in which Hernandez, who had just confessed, walked police through SoHo and pointed to a gated alley under 113 Thompson St. as the place he left the body.
On Monday, jurors watched the first recorded confession Hernandez made to three NYPD detectives including Det. David Ramirez, who testified Monday at the Camden County Prosecutors Office in New Jersey.
New York City police Detective David Ramirez, who arrested Hernandez, says the suspect felt relieved after finally confessing, and officials say he knows details only the killer would know. Ramirez says Hernandez knew the boy had a book bag, and said he tossed it behind the freezer in the basement.

Mexican heritage soars proudly on the eve of Cinco de Mayo
The youngest member of Calpulli Tonalehqueh to perform Sunday, David Ramirez, 12, had perhaps the most worldly view of what it means to represent both the Mexican and indigenous Nauhatl cultures in 2014.
David Ramirez, 22, is among the youngest of the riders -- a green-eyed Mexican from the state of Durango who said he was brought to the United States when he was 9, too young to have made his own choice.
significant hurdles because the district attorneys and judges handling their cases are elected officials. And if a case does get in front of a jury, it's unlikely convicted molesters will find much sympathy, said David Ramirez, a defense attorney who specializes in representing sexually violent predators.
