Abstract:

Methods and systems for providing food, beverages, and associated goods and services are described herein. In one embodiment of the invention, a method for providing breakfast cereal in a quick-serve restaurant setting includes displaying multiple readily-recognizable, competitively-branded, breakfast cereal boxes in view of customers. The method further includes receiving a request from a customer for a first portion of a first one of the breakfast cereals and a second portion of a second one of the breakfast cereals. In response to receiving the request from the customer, the method additionally includes combining the first and second portions of the breakfast cereals together in a carry-out container and presenting the container to the customer in exchange for payment.

Methods and systems for collecting and processing data related to food, beverages, and associated goods and services are described herein. In one embodiment, a method for obtaining consumer data relating to cereal includes providing a menu to a customer in a quick-serve restaurant setting. The menu can include at least one selection that allows the customer to choose two different, competitively-branded breakfast cereals from a list of competitively-branded breakfast cereals. The method can further include receiving a request from the customer for two of the competitively-branded breakfast cereals on the list. In response to receiving the request, the method can additionally include recording information related to the request in a database, and providing at least a portion of the recorded information to a third party user.

Systems and apparatuses for providing enhanced management of facilities offering food, beverages, and associated goods and services in a retail environment are disclosed herein. In one embodiment of the invention, a quick-serve restaurant includes multiple above-counter cabinets, multiple below-counter storage bins, and a service bar positioned in front of the cabinets and the storage bins. In this embodiment, the above-counter cabinets hold commercially-recognizable, retail-sale packages of competitively-branded cereals for viewing by customers as they place their orders. The below-counter storage bins contain the competitively-branded cereals displayed in the above-counter cabinets. The service bar is configured for use by employees of the restaurant in preparing food orders that can include combinations of at least two or more of the cereals contained in the storage bins.

Abstract:

An improved medical gas supply mask adapted to allow insertion of a broncoscope or endoscope into a patient's mouth without removing the mask. The mask's gas supply portal is located below the mouth instead of directly below the nose. The mask has an attached, typically extendable, tubular bite block that has an outer orifice on the outside of the mask. The surgeon can thus manipulate a scope tube or other instrument into the esophagus or trachea as desired while still providing oxygen to the patient. The mask includes small closed side-ports to receive items like a CO2 monitor tube and the like. Instruments up to approximately 4 cm may be inserted.
