Abstract:

A self-securing handle for a tool having a longitudinally extending main body portion, is provided. The handle includes an elongate body having a first end and a longitudinally opposed second end, and a central cavity extending from the first end to the second end thereof. The handle further includes a securing mechanism positioned within the central cavity proximate the second end of the handle. The handle receives the tool main body portion within the central cavity, and the securing mechanism mates with a receiving structure on the tool main body portion to secure the handle to the tool main body portion.

Abstract:

An ergonomic wrench for rotating a member in a torquing plane substantially perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the member is provided, having a head portion for engaging the member and a handle extending therefrom in a first longitudinal direction. The invention further includes a handle which is substantially elliptical, having a major axis and a minor axis when viewed in a cross-sectional plane perpendicular to said first longitudinal direction, the major axis of which is arranged substantially perpendicular to the torquing plane.

Abstract:

The present invention is an inflation system utilizing an inflation device and an adaptor therefor. The inflation device includes a cylindrical housing which receives a pressurized cartridge of gas, a head unit, and a nozzle. The head unit of the device includes structure for creating and delivering a metered bolus of gas per each actuation of the device. The device audibly indicates to the user when a single bolus of gas has been successfully delivered to an inflatable bladder. In another aspect of the invention, an elastomeric inflation port which serves as an adaptor for connecting the inflation device of the invention to an inflatable bladder is provided. The inflation port of the invention may also function as a fluid release mechanism to vent fluid from the bladder.

Abstract:

A closure for sealing the open end of body fluid collection, transport or storage containers or tubes. The closure includes a ball and socket arrangement, wherein the ball rotates within the socket to align a passageway through the ball with the opening in the tube. To close the closure, a tab or protrusion extending from the ball is pushed to rotate the ball and orient the passageway perpendicular to the opening of the tube. When the closure is in the closed position, the ball and socket form a liquid tight seal to prevent liquid in the tube from leaking out of the tube, evaporating or being contaminated.
