Abstract:

User equipment (UE) includes a short-range transceiver configured for communication with a plurality of wireless access points (APs) distributed throughout a venue. The individual UEs can communicate with the venue via the APs. The UEs can be configured to play interactive games with the venue, some of which may be displayed on the large screen in the venue and others that are displayed on the display of the UE. Data may be sent to the UEs individually or in groups. The data may be in the form of advertising, text messaging, images, video, multimedia, or the like. An array of UEs can receive portions of an overall image and function as individual pixels in a large display.

Abstract:

A video or multimedia distribution system receives multiple video streams and transcodes them into a single stream of UDP packets with each of the plurality of video data packets for respective ones of the video streams being assigned a port number corresponding to the respective video stream. The UDP packets are routed to a plurality of Access Points (APs) for transmission. A User Equipment (UE) communicates with the APs and selects one of the video streams for viewing on the UE by selecting the port number corresponding to the desired video stream. A first processor in the UE identifies and stores UDP packet data having the selected port number and a second processor retrieves and plays the video stream on a display. The UE can “change channels” to view other video streams by changing the port number to the port number of the desired video stream.

Abstract:

A wireless network is established by direct communication between a user equipment (UE) and wireless access points within a venue. After initial registration, the UE may be automatically authenticated upon entry into the venue. In the venue, the UE sends a periodic signal that includes information from which the UE location within the venue may be determined. The system can develop a social profile based on how “social” the user of the UE is on the network by analyzing message data between users of the network. The analysis and social profile generation can be used to identify users that are the most social. In addition, the analysis can develop a social DNA rating based on various factors, including the number and types of messages sent and received, sent messages that get a response, and the number of pictures, files and push-to-talk (PTT) messages sent or received.

Abstract:

An application programming Interface (API) is downloaded to wireless user equipment (UE). The API enables the UE to automatically detect the presence of one or more access points (AP) in a venue and to transmit identification information to the access point to authenticate the UE. The identification/authentication may occur whenever the UE comes within range of any of the APs in the venue. A plurality of venues may be coupled to a Cloud network with the authentication information stored on the Cloud network. In this manner, whenever the UE enters any of the venues, theUE is automatically authenticated when it comes within range of any AP within any of the venues. The venue may use the API to provide advertising to the UE. The Cloud network may aggregate data from a plurality of data sources to provide targeted advertising via the API to the UE.

Abstract:

Apparatuses and methods are disclosed for determining an implant position for at least one artificial component in a joint and facilitating the implantation thereof. The apparatuses and methods include creating a joint model of a patient's joint into which an artificial component is to be implanted and creating a component model of the artificial component. The joint and artificial component models are used to simulate movement in the patient's joint with the artificial component in a test position. The component model and the joint model are used to calculate a range of motion in the joint for at least one test position based on the simulated motion. An implant position, including angular orientation, in the patient's joint is determined based on a predetermined range of motion and the calculated range of motion. In a preferred embodiment, the implant position can be identified in the joint model and the joint model aligned with the joint by registering positional data from discrete points on the joint with the joint model. Such registration also allows for tracking of the joint during surgical procedures.

Abstract:

A digital to analog resolver converter uses a digital to analog converter to convert a part of the digital input to a corresponding analog angle value. This analog angle value is applied to sine and cosine function generators which use bits of the digital input signal to select slope and intercept values for approximating the sine and cosine of the analog angle value. The outputs of these function generators are applied to an octant select circuit, which chooses the values to be used as the sine and cosine of the angle in a particular octant. Two circuits then assign the proper sign to the cosine and sine function values.

Abstract:

The invention is an automated solder joint inspection system for determining the quality of a specular soldered joint through examination of the shape of the joint surface using a series of point light sources and the associated highlight reflections from the joint surface. The light from point light sources, which is directed toward the solder joint, is reflected in a pattern from the solder joint to an array of light responsive transducers from at least one location. Utilizing the intensity values from the light responsive transducer array, the surface orientation of the solder joint at a number of points is determined. The solder joint is evaluated in one of two ways. In one way, using known surface features of solder joints along with curve fitting techniques, a series of grid maps is mathematically interpreted to reconstruct the solder joint surface. A rule-based system, through comparison with acceptable solder joint surface features, evaluates and classifies the joint for an acceptability determination. In another way the surface orientation is used to generate an Extended Gaussian Image of the joint and the features of this are analyzed.
