Abstract:

A voltage compensation circuit is disclosed for proving an elevated output AC voltage upon an under voltage input AC voltage condition. The voltage compensation circuit comprises an autotransformer having a first and a second autotransformer winding. A first position of a switch connects the first autotransformer winding to the input AC voltage for providing an elevated output AC voltage at the second autotransformer winding. The second position of the switch shorting the first autotransformer winding for providing a non-elevated output AC voltage.

Abstract:

A portable partial discharge detecting device for measuring partial discharge in energized electrical systems encloses a relay circuit and a DC power source. A pair of sensor circuits are enclosed within electrically coupling clamping mechanisms and are coupled to the relay circuit at sensor inputs by cabling. The clamping mechanisms engage the ground leads of the electrical system. Trip and alarm networks of the relay circuit continuously compare the picocoulomb values of the partial discharge pulses against user set threshold values. Relays coupled to the trip and alarm networks respond if the threshold values are exceeded. The alarm setting is always set to a pick-up value equal to or less than the trip setting. The trip network relays are coupled to a control circuit of the electrical system and can take the system off-line. The alarm network relays are coupled to an alarm circuit and can warn the user that a certain level of partial discharge has been reached within the electrical system.

Abstract:

A solar power generation system is provided for more efficiently and cost-effectively generating and delivering power. The solar power generation system includes a plurality of distributed power converter nodes each configured to convert DC power received from a solar module into a deadband DC waveform. The deadband DC power generated by each power converter node is then transmitted to a centralized grid interface box, which is configured to unfold the deadband DC waveform into an AC signal suitable for transmission to an electric power grid.

Abstract:

An improved arc suppression circuit is disclosed for a switch having switch comprising a shunt circuit connected across the switch. A trigger circuit senses the voltage across the switch for actuating the shunt circuit when voltage across the switch contacts exceeds a predetermined level to reduce arcing current at the switch.
