Abstract:
An EMD locomotive engine low oil governor reset system, the governor having a low oil reset plunger which moves from an operating position to a tripped position out of a side of the governor when a low oil condition has been sensed and has initiated shut down of the engine, the governor also providing an electrical signal indicating the plunger has been tripped, the system comprising a solenoid mounted adjacent the governor and having a plunger in alignment with the low oil reset plunger for engaging the plunger in the tripped position and moving it to the operating position when the solenoid is activated, the solenoid being connected to the governor so as to receive the electrical signal therefrom; and a timer associated with the solenoid for delaying activation of the solenoid for a predetermined period of time after receipt of the electrical signal from the governor.
Locomotive Engine Restart Shutdown Override System And Method
A system for overriding an EMD locomotive engine protective device which includes a low water pressure sensing device in communication with the engine cooling system for shutting down the engine when low water pressure in the engine is sensed, the override system comprising a water assist pump connected to a source of water and communicating with the protective device for supplying pressurized water to the low water pressure sensing device to maintain relatively high water pressure to prevent the device from shutting down the engine; and a controller for activating the water assist pump during start up of the engine.

Abstract:
Apparatus for forming a form wound stator coil from a bobbin has means for clamping the straight portions of the bobbin to define the straight portions of the each leg of the coil. It also has means for bending the bobbin to predetermined radii to form arms extending from the straight portions of each leg of the coil to each nose of the coil. Means are provided for bending each arm to a predetermined radius. Means are further provided for bending the nose portions to a predetermined angle. Means for providing a drop to the arm portions of the coil relative to the stator bore are also provided. Means for forming the leads of the bobbin to a predetermined configuration are also provided. Hydraulic means for powering the apparatus and a system for controlling the hydraulic means are also disclosed.
