Abstract:

An analog-to-digital conversion scheme allows the conversion of a small dynamic range analog signal into a floating-point, digital representation with a larger dynamic range. A montonically changing analog signal is reset to a reference value at time t=0. The analog signal is then sub-converted by an analog-to-digital converter with maximum input signal level S to corresponding digital representations at several sub-conversion times t=T T t=T T ,. . . t=T T , where T T. These digital representations are then suitably combined to produce a cumulative, floating-point digital representation which accurately represents the analog signal even if the analog signal has a value greater than S at time t=T.

Abstract:

A dot matrix display system made up of light emitting diodes (LEDs), n which one or more LEDs are modulated and encoded with audio information or messages is disclosed. The system has a LED dot matrix display panel with an interface circuit to a computer, an audio signal transmitter, and a receiver. An executive program runs on the computer for the visual display control of characters, decorative pattern or messages on the display panel. The receiver combined with a speaker is located at a distance from the display panel. The receiver is designed to demodulate the optically transmitted audio information and broadcast the messages with the speaker. The modulation of the LEDs includes a voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) for varying the frequency of on/off periods of said light emitting diodes. The frequency is high enough such that the perceivable light appears to be constantly illuminated to the human eye.

Abstract:

The present invention is directed to a folder type file tray assembled from a single paperboard blank. The file tray can be flattened to a reduced size during storage or transportation. It can also be assembled into different forms for different usage. The first form of file tray is an open-top box with a front opening for usage as a conventional file tray. The second form of file tray is an open-top box without a front opening, i. e. , surrounded by four side walls for usage as a desk-top tool box. The third form of file tray is an open-top box with a foldable closing lid for usage such as a storage box. Additionally, the file tray of present invention can be stacked up directly to each other in multiple numbers without additional means of support. The file tray of present invention has low material and manufacturing costs. If needed, one side of paper blank can be laminated with higher quality paper or decorative material to enhance the appearance of file tray of present invention.

Abstract:

The hanger of present invention comprises of an integral hook and anchor sections in the upper and lower parts of hanger respectively. The hook section forms an U-hook for suspending and retaining the hanging wire of a picture frame. The anchor section guides a fastener such as a nail to drive through the anchor section and into the wall in inclined position. The hanger of present invention allows the hanging wire of the picture frame to directly engage into the U-hook without interference when a person holds the picture frame against the wall, and slides the picture frame downward to approach the hanger from the top of hanger.

Abstract:

A module unit is to be mounted to the exterior surface of a trunk door or rear door of a vehicle for displaying a license plate. Without requiring a key or special tool, the module unit protects the license plate from being removed by an un-authorized person. The license plate can only be removed when a locking unit in the module unit is unlocked by activating a release unit from the interior side of vehicle. Such a module unit also protects the annual registration stickers from being removed by an un-authorized person.

The present invention provides automated systems for the purification of radioisotopes, the formulation of radiopharmaceuticals or both. In preferred embodiments the radioisotopes are produced by a generator. Abstract:

A swing arm assembly becomes a balancing mechanism for a foldable telescope golf cart. The swing arm assembly adjusts the inclined angle of the golf beg on the golf cart, and thus adjusts the location of the center of gravity of the cart. The golf cart is maintained in a balanced state when the center of gravity falls upon the centerline of the cart wheels. The golf cart and swing arm assembly can be converted from compact size to full size, or vice versa, by a single action.
