Abstract:

Compounds of Formula I ##STR1## in which: R. sub. 1 is hydrogen, lower alkyl, --C(O)R. sub. 3, or --C(O)NR. sub. 3 R. sub. 4, where R. sub. 3 and R. sub. 4 are independently lower alkyl, phenyl, or phenyl lower alkyl; R. sub. 2 is hydrogen or lower alkyl; and X is --(CH. sub. 2). sub. m -- where m is an integer of 1 to 10, or --(CH. sub. 2). sub. n Y(CH. sub. 2). sub. n -- where n is an integer of 1 to 3 and Y is oxygen or sulfur, their individual R,R-; R,S-; and S,S-stereoisomers, and racemic or non-racemic mixtures of stereoisomers, and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts are dopamine agonist compounds useful in the treatment of hypertension and congestive heart failure in mammals.

Abstract:

Dopamine agonist compounds disclosed are useful in treating hypertension and congestive heart failure in mammals. The compounds have the following general formula (I) ##STR1## wherein: X is nitrogen or CH; R is hydrogen or lower alkyl; R. sub. 1, R'. sub. 1, R. sub. 2, R'. sub. 2, R. sub. 3, R'. sub. 3, R. sub. 4, R'. sub. 4, R. sub. 5 and R'. sub. 5 are each independently hydrogen, ##STR2## respectively represent --(CH. sub. 2). sub. n -- and (CH. sub. 2). sub. m wherein n and m are each independently an integer of from 1 to 10 and pharmaceutically acceptable salts, S stereoisomers and racemic and non-racemic mixtures thereof.
