A system for cutting sheet material. The system has a first roller with at least one cutting element thereon with the first roller rotatable around a first axis and the second roller having at least one receptacle thereon and rotatable around a second axis. The first and second rollers are relatively positioned so that as the first and second rollers rotate around the first and second axes, the one cutting element aligns with and projects into the one receptacle to thereby cause cutting out of a discrete portion of a sheet material between the first and second rollers. A servo drive is provided for at least one of a) rotating the first roller around the first axis and b) rotating the second roller around the second axis.
Method And Apparatus For Incrementally Feeding A Tube Along A Linear Tube Path
A feeder system for incrementally feeding a tube along a linear tube path to a point of use. The feeder system includes a frame, and first and second belts on the frame. The first and second belts are capable of moving incrementally in respective first and second belt paths and thereby incrementally moving a tube engaged by the first and second belts in the linear tube path.

Abstract:
A rotary stamper includes an upper die plate assembly, a lower die plate assembly, and a support frame having a drive assembly that moves the upper die plate horizontally and vertically along a generally circular pathway while moving the lower die plate along a linear horizontal pathway. The upper die plate is vertically slidably connected to the lower die plate by way of one or more vertical rods that extend from the lower die plate assembly up through the upper die plate. In operation, the lower die plate matches the horizontal movements of the upper die plate as the latter is moved along its circular pathway. Concurrently, the upper die plate moves towards and away from the lower die plate. This maintains a substantially constant alignment between the die plates for carrying out a periodic machining operation on a moving web of material passing there between.

Abstract:
In accordance with the present invention, an apparatus is provided for cutting a workpiece moving in a predetermined path relative to a support. The apparatus includes a carriage and linear bearings for mounting the carriage to a support for movement relative to the support to follow movement of the workpiece as it moves in a predetermined path. A clamp is provided on the carriage for clamping the workpiece to the carriage, the clamp having an open position and a closed position. A scarf cutter movable between a first position and a second position is also provided on the carriage for making a scarf cut in the workpiece. A mechanism is provided between the scarf cutter and the clamp for moving the clamp from its open position to its closed position as an incident of the scarf cutter moving from its first position towards its second position, and, in one form of the invention, for moving the clamp from its closed position to its open position as an incident of the scarf cutter moving from its second position towards its first position.
A tube cutoff apparatus arranged to provide an improved cutoff of a tube avoiding dimpling of the tube. The apparatus includes an improved blade configuration and mechanism for moving the blade in different directions to effect a multistep tube cutoff. In a first step, the tube is chordally notched, and in a second step, the tube is diametrically sliced to provide a dimpleless cutoff.
A kite control mechanism arranged to control a plurality of kite-flying lines. The mechanism includes a pair of spools mounted in a frame by a control shaft having an associated manually operable handle. The kite-flying lines extend outwardly from the spools through elongated slots in the frame and a leverage handle is mounted to the frame for supporting the mechanism during use. The spools may be driven from the mounting shaft by a key thereon selectively engaging keyways in the respective spools so as to permit driving of both spools concurrently or one spool independently of the other when desired. A friction drive device is provided for driving the second spool from the spool being driven by the shaft key so as to permit self-adjusting payout of the kite-flying lines. The second spool may be selectively locked when desired by a manually operable lock device carried on the frame. The selective driving of the spools may be effected by an axial movement of the shaft with the handle further serving to limit the axial movement in one direction.
