Abstract:

An equipment security apparatus comprising a base member and a cover member. The base member is attached to vertical or horizontal surfaces by means of bolts or adhesive pads and plates or brackets as required in a particular installation. The cover member is removably attached to the base member by inserting a pair of inwardly directed pin members which extend from the cover member into holes provided therefor in the base member and locking the cover member to othe base member. Equipment is securely attached to the cover member by means of one or more U-shaped rod members or straps which are made from case-hardened steel so as to prevent their being readily cut or severed by manual cutting apparatus such as bolt-cutters or the like.

Abstract:

A disk drive lock assembly is provided having a housing, a slot blocking member movably mounted within the housing for linear movement relative to the housing, a key-actuated lock assembly coupled to a cam member located in the housing for moving the slot blocking member in a linear fashion relative to the housing between a retracted position and an extended position and a pad member which can be provided with an adhesive for permanently affixing the disk drive lock assembly to a disk drive adjacent to a disk receiving slot therein. In operation, the slot blocking member is selectively moved between a retracted position and an extended position for selectively blocking access to a disk receiving slot in a disk drive.

A security apparatus is provided having a base plate with a loop member and a cover member having a tapered loop engaging member for engaging the loop member on the base plate and forcing the cover member toward the base plate as the cover member is moved horizontally relative to the base plate. The base plate is provided with an adhesive pad for attaching the base plate to an underlying surface. The cover member is provided with locking members for locking the cover member to the base plate when the cover has been moved to a predetermined horizontal position relative to the base plate. Abstract:

A security device for securing a first object having an aperture to a second object. The security device includes a scissor locking unit for securing the device to the first object and a cable adapter. The scissor locking unit comprises a locking mechanism having a shaft that is rotated between an unlock position and a lock position, a cam connected to said shaft for rotation therewith and a scissor pivot assembly connected to the cam for translating the rotary motion of the cam into linear motion of a pair of scissor arms in the scissor pivot assembly. The pair of scissor arms will be in an overlapping closed position when the locking mechanism is in the unlock position allowing the scissor arms to be inserted into the aperture in the first object. The pair of scissor arms will be in a spread apart open position when the locking mechanism is in the lock position preventing the scissor arms from being withdrawn through the aperture in the first object so as to secure the device to the first object. The cable adapter first receives and houses a connector attached to the end of a cable where the cable has been attached to the second object and then receives the scissor locking unit so as to prevent the connector from being removed from the cable adapter.
