An ink delivery system is provided for an inkjet printer. The ink delivery system includes a supply of ink and an inkjet printhead having a first port, second port and an ink ejection nozzle. The inkjet printhead is connected to the ink supply tank by a first fluid supply path. The first fluid supply path includes first and second check valves which permit ink to flow from the ink supply tank to the inkjet printhead, but prevent fluid flow in the opposite direction. The ink delivery system includes a second fluid supply path which is connected at one end to the first fluid supply path between the respective first and second check valves. The second fluid supply path is connected at its opposite end to the inkjet printhead's second port. The second fluid supply path further includes a bidirectional pump so as to direct fluid flow in either direction through the second fluid supply path. The delivery system operates in various modes including a re-circulate mode, pressure purge mode, maintenance mode and normal print mode.

Abstract:
In a magnetic tape drive in which the supply reel is contained within a cartridge, the tape is automatically threaded from the supply reel within the cartridge past a magnetic head assembly to the take-up reel by a vacuum source coupled via apertures in the hub of the take-up reel to a generally enclosed continuous flowpath extending between the supply and take-up reels. The vacuum source causes air to flow into the cartridge through air inlet ports and around the opposite sides of the supply reel to an opposite tape exit port communicating with the flowpath so as to pull the leading end of a length of magnetic tape wound on the supply reel through the flowpath and onto the take-up reel. The supply reel is initially rotated in a second direction to ensure that the length of magnetic tape is completely wound thereon, following which the supply reel is rotated in an opposite first direction to enable the leading end of the length of tape to be picked off the supply reel and fed into the flowpath to the take-up reel. The take-up reel is rotated in a second direction opposite the first direction.

Abstract:
An automated cassette loader system includes a front loading tape drive mounted in a standard height enclosure with a removable magazine including cassettes stored in front to rear alignment in two levels. The cassettes are pushed between entry and exit positions by pushing one cassette out of a push position in one level and then pushing a cassette from a push position in the other level. The cassette pushed out of the magazine is transported to the front loading tape drive and, when removed therefrom, transported to the intake of the other level of the magazine.
Method And Apparatus For Latching An Access Door Of A Magazine Loading Tape Drive
A mechanical interlocking is provided between a bidirectional swinging access door with a moveable part of a tape cassette or magazine loading mechanism such that the door remains unlatched as the moveable part moves from its forward loading/unloading position to its rearward operational position and the door remains latched as the moveable part moves in the forward direction from its operational position to its loading/unloading position.

From the very beginning, miners reported "irregularities" in controlling coal mine dust, says Donald Rasmussen, 84, a pulmonologist in Beckley, W.Va. Rasmussen says he's tested 40,000 coal miners for black lung in the last 50 years.
years ago, after a massive strike by coal miners in the Appalachian coalfields. "In 1969, I publicly proclaimed that the disease would go away before we learned more about it," said Dr. Donald Rasmussen, a pioneer in recognizing and diagnosing black lung who is still practicing, at 84, in Beckley, W.Va.
demanded that dust be controlled and new cases of disease be prevented. The idea was that, even if black lung didn't disappear, there would be a small number of mild cases and virtually no one like Donald and James Marcum, said Dr. Donald Rasmussen, a pioneer in recognizing and diagnosing black lung.
"They anticipated that no one would develop progressive massive fibrosis," says 84-year-old Donald Rasmussen, a pulmonologist in Beckley, W.Va., who says he's tested 40,000 coal miners in the last 50 years.
