Abstract:

A strobe unit includes a light source carried by a reflector. The reflector has a plurality of reflecting regions arranged around the light source, each reflecting region including a partial parabolic section extruded linearly in a first direction, and a plurality of parabolic aiming sections extruded to a point and arranged between adjacent partial parabolic sections. The parabolic aiming sections are arranged to direct light from the light source substantially in a radial plane substantially parallel to the first direction. The reflector can also include a planar section arranged between the partial parabolic section and the parabolic aiming sections.

Abstract:

A plastic cover covers a surface-mounted junction box which delivers wires to an alarm unit or emergency light or the like which is mounted to the cover. The cover is connected to the junction box by screws which engage threaded holes provided by the junction box. The cover can be mounted to either a single wide junction box or a double wide junction box and provides corresponding holes for connection to either box. The alarm devices can be connected to the cover directly by screws or by a combination of a single screw and a tab which is received into a slot on the cover. The cover and alarm unit together form an architecturally attractive cover for an otherwise industrial appearing junction box. When the cover is attached to the junction box, the box no longer can be seen. The covers can be color coded for a particular alarm service, such as fire, weather warnings, or other emergency conditions.

Abstract:

A wall-mountable strobe unit emits radiant energy over a one hundred eighty degree arc in a horizontal plane and over a ninety degree arc in a vertical plane when so mounted. The unit includes a reflector and an elongated light source. The elongated light source is symmetrically positioned on the reflector with one end thereof carried on the reflector with the light source extending in the horizontal plane when so mounted. The reflector includes first and second planar elements symmetrically located with respect to the light source. The planar elements are joined by symmetrically located curved elements formed of partial parabolic surfaces. The partial parabolic surfaces extend from the planar elements first rising a predetermined amount from the planar elements and then falling back toward the planar elements. Two additional partial parabolic surfaces are positioned adjacent to the planar surfaces, symmetrically located with respect to the light source and displaced from the parabolic surfaces with the planar surfaces therebetween.

Abstract:

A product storage and handling system for a beverage dispenser is characterized by a cabinet in which a plurality of bins are removably supported on one or more shelves that may be slid into and out of the cabinet. Each bin is for containing a removable container of liquid beverage component, a fluid valve of which container extends downward through and is releasably secured against vertical movement in a lower opening in the bin. A connector coupled to a fluid line leading to a beverage valve of a beverage dispenser is arranged to be conveniently fluid coupled with and decoupled from the fluid valve of the bag. When a shelf of slid out of the cabinet, the bins supported by it may, if desired, be lifted off of and replaced on the shelf for during replacement of a depleted bag of liquid beverage component. Alternatively, the bins may remain supported on the shelf during replacement of a depleted bag of liquid beverage component.

Abstract:

A machine for dispensing blended iced beverages is characterized by a cabinet for storing a plurality of supplies of beverage ingredients and a refrigeration system for chilling an interior of the cabinet to chill the beverage ingredient supplies. A duct extends between the cabinet interior and a remote point of delivery of the beverage ingredients and a tubing bundle extends from the supplies and through the duct to the delivery point to deliver beverage ingredients from the supplies to the delivery point. The interior of the duct is chilled to chill the tubing bundle and beverage ingredients in the tubing bundle, so that chilled beverage ingredients are always provided to the point of delivery, even when the machine is idle for an extended period of time. Various techniques are provided for chilling the interior of the duct.

Refrigeration systems for machines for making blended iced beverages make ice for use in the beverages and maintain beverage ingredients cold not only as the ingredients are stored in supply containers in the machine but also as they are delivered from the supply containers to a remote point of delivery at a beverage ingredient dispense station. Abstract:

An adapter for mounting an icemaker on top of an ice bin of an ice and beverage dispenser has a lid mounted for both sliding movement and pivotal movement relative to the remainder of the adapter. The lid normally covers an inlet to the ice bin. To expose the ice bin inlet for visually inspection of the interior of the bin and/or to accommodate manual filling of the bin with ice, the lid is manually slid forward off of and then be rotated away from the bin inlet to fully expose the inlet. The lid at all times remains connected to the adapter so that it is not lost or exposed to unsanitary conditions.
