    A free piston pump has a pump housing defining a chamber, and a free piston located within the chamber. The free piston defines one (or more) pumping chamber(s). Each pumping chamber receives fluid from one (or more) inlet port(s) and delivers fluid to one (or more) outlet port(s). The pump has an electromagnetic drive system for moving the free piston within the chamber. Check valves or porting can be used to admit fluid into the pumping chamber(s) and release fluid from the pumping chamber(s). The pump can use three types of bearings and two types of seals. The pump has small heat leakage to the fluid being pumped. The pump is insensitive to cavitation, and has the potential for long-life. The pump has low leakage to the ambient environment.

    Methods and apparatuses for double-sampling a signal using an operational amplifier having dedicated unswitched connections to sample and hold circuits. In one embodiment, a circuit according to the teachings of the present invention includes an op-amp having four input terminals. Two of the input terminals are tied to ground and the other two terminals are coupled to S/H circuits through unswitched connections. In one embodiment, the S/H circuits are coupled to sample an input signal during different clock phases.

    The valve includes a supply portion, a delivery portion and an intermediate fluid chamber; a poppet member is positioned within the fluid chamber and is adapted to move within the chamber, the poppet including a conical seating surface and a rim portion, the rim portion having openings therethrough into the open interior of the poppet, allowing for forward fluid flow through the poppet. A delivery poppet seat and a supply poppet seat are defined at opposite ends of the fluid chamber. The delivery poppet seat is configured so that when the rim portion of the poppet contacts the delivery seat, fluid flow in the forward direction is permitted. The supply poppet seat is configured such that when the conical seating surface of the poppet member contacts the supply poppet seat, backflow through the valve is substantially prevented.
