Abstract:
A panel assembly for covering and uncovering an opening in a vehicle includes a guide rail extending longitudinally therealong. A panel extends between front and rear edges and is movable relative to the guide rail. A guide mechanism is slidably coupled to the guide rail. A carrier bracket is fixedly secured to the panel and slidably coupled to the guide mechanism. A latch is operatively coupled to the panel and slidably coupled to the guide rail. The latch is operable between a locked position preventing longitudinal movement of the panel and an unlocked position allowing longitudinal movement of the panel. A motor drives the guide mechanism forward along the guide rail moving the panel from a close position to a venting position, and rearward along the guide rail actuating the latch to the unlocked position and moving the panel from the close position to an open position.

Abstract:
A retractable roof assembly () is provided for a motor vehicle () having a rear seat () and spaced apart roof side frame members () defining a roof opening (). The retractable roof assembly () includes a split rail assembly () having a fixed rail () adapted to be fixedly secured to each of the roof side frame members () and extending along a portion thereof, and a movable rail () extending rearward of the fixed rail () along a remaining portion of each of the roof side frame members (). A plurality of roof panels () extends between the roof side frame members () and slidably engages the split rail assembly () for selective movement into a stacked configuration above the movable rail (). A linkage assembly () is operably connected to the movable rail () for pivoting and articulating the movable rail () relative to the fixed rail () when the plurality of roof panels () is in the stacked configuration in order to stow the plurality of roof panels () behind the rear seat () of the motor vehicle () such that the entire roof opening () is exposed.

Abstract:
A retractable roof assembly is provided for a motor vehicle having a rear storage space behind a rear seat within a passenger compartment. The retractable roof assembly includes a rail assembly including at least one rear rail and at least one front rail pivotally hinged to the rear rail. A plurality of roof panels slidingly engage the rear and front rails for movement between a roof configuration covering the passenger compartment and a stacked configuration exposing the passenger compartment. A rear pillar is disposed rearward of the rear rail and selectively supports at least one of the plurality of roof panels. When the plurality of roof panels is in the stacked configuration, the rail assembly, plurality of roof panels, and rear pillar are movable into the rear storage space behind the rear seat in order to provide a full open air roof for the motor vehicle.

Abstract:
A window regulator is provided for operating a window pane of an automotive vehicle including a guide rail extending between opposite upper and lower ends. A lifter plate is slidably coupled to the guide rail. The lifter plate includes an integrated drum housing and is adapted for supporting the window pane. A motor assembly is fixedly secured to the lifter plate and includes a drive housing and a reversible motor. A drive shaft is rotatably coupled to the drive housing for rotation by the reversible motor. A cable drum is disposed in the integrated drum housing of the lifter plate for being rotatably driven by the drive shaft. A pair of cables having first ends connected to the cable drum are at least partially wound around the cable drum in opposite directions while second ends are connected to the upper and lower ends of the guide rail. The lifter plate, cable drum and motor assembly move together upwardly and downwardly along the guide rail in response to rotation of the shaft.

Abstract:
An assembly for deploying a device from a cavity. The assembly includes a translatable cover and a mounting surface defining an opening sized to receive the translatable cover thereover. The device is received in the cavity beneath the mounting surface and is actuatable between a first device position and a second device position. A plurality of linkages are positioned within the cavity. At least one of the plurality of linkages is coupled to a power source for actuating the plurality of linkages and at least one of the plurality of linkages is coupled to the translatable cover and to the device. Thus, when the power source actuates the plurality of linkages, the translatable cover is translated relative to the mounting surface from a first cover position to a second cover position and the device is actuated from the first device position to the second device position.
