Abstract:
A dye transfer receptor sheet suitable for thermal dye transfer imaging is described. The receptor sheet provides excellent image stability characteristics. The receptor sheet comprises a substrate with a receiving layer of a vinyl chloride containing copolymer which has a glass transition temperature between 50. degree. and 85. degree. C. , preferably about 59. degree. and 65. degree. C. , a weight average molecular weight between about 10,000 and 100,000, preferably between 30,000 and about 50,000 g/mol, a hydroxyl equivalent weight between about 1500 and 4000, preferably about 1890 and about 3400 g/mol, a sulfonate equivalent weight between 9000 and 23,000, preferably between about 11,000 and about 19,200 g/mol, and an epoxy equivalent weight between about 500 and 7000, preferably about 1200 and about 6000 g/mol.

Abstract:
Flexible magnetic recording media and stable-fluid, reactive dispersions of polymeric binder materials and particulate solids (either magnetic or non-magnetic) useful in preparing flexible or rigid magnetic recording media are provided. The use of a crosslinkable dispersing polymer comprised of a vinyl aromatic monomer and an ethylenically unsaturated monomer having hydroxyl functionality allows for magnetic media having both an excellent dispersion of finely divided magnetic particles, which improves the magnetic properties of the media, and an excellent set of mechanical characteristics, such as flexural modulus and tensile strength, of the magnetic media. The dispersing copolymer is used in an amount of at least about 5% by weight of the crosslinked binder mixture of which the crosslinkable dispersing polymer is a part.

Abstract:
Cyanoacrylate adhesive compositions containing (a) a toughener (e. g. , a core-shell copolymer such as an MBS, ABS, or MABS copolymer), the toughener optionally being treated to remove impurities which cause premature polymerization of cyanoacrylates, and (b) cyanoacrylate-compatible, toughener-compatible sustainer (e. g. , an organic compound containing one or more unsubstituted or substituted aryl groups, such as diphenylmethane or dichlorobenzene). The inclusion of sustainer provides improved retention of toughness after heat aging of cured bonds of the adhesive.
