Advanced Certificate with Merit, Wines and SpiritsThe Level 3 Advanced Certificate gives comprehensive coverage of wines and spirits, with an increased focus on tasting technique and on the application of the knowledge gained. Provides a core knowledge of the wide range of wines and spirits around the world to equip those in a supervisory capacity with the authority and confidence to make informed decisions in a wide variety of trade situations. The Advanced Certificate is the appropriate course for those who already have a broad foundation of wine knowledge--including wine labeling laws, appellation systems, major wine-producing regions, and grape types--and are experienced in tasting technique. It covers the major wine regions of the world in depth, and includes more detailed study of viticulture and vinification. This course enables students to describe the characteristics of the principal wines and spirits of the world and to explain the key factors influencing those characteristics.

Intermediate Level 2 Certificate with Merit, Wines and SpiritsThis qualification offers broad coverage of all product categories in the field of alcoholic drinks together with basic wine tasting technique. Provides vocational training in the broad range of alcoholic beverages to underpin job skills and competencies in the customer service and sales functions of the hospitality, retail and wholesale industries. This program enables students to interpret wine and spirits labels, explain the fundamentals of wine-tasting, become familiar with the world's major wine regions and their principal wines, and give basic advice on wine selection and service.
