About:
Eileen Townsend, a top producing Realtor in the Greater Burlington and Chittenden County market for the past decade, brings to her real estate practice 20 years of prior expertise in marketing, communications and business management – a solid skillset for the challenges of our changing economy. Eileen’s clients benefit from her personal experience in executive relocation; she has moved seven times with her family, coast to coast and back again, owning real estate in six states, including historic homes, custom construction, condos and townhouses, view properties, and “renovator specials.” She has helped hundreds of Vermont buyers and sellers achieve their goals in “hot” markets with scarce inventory and multiple offers, as well as in slow markets with soft prices and excess inventory. "Whether you're moving up, moving out, or even reluctantly moving on, whatever your concerns are, I've been there," Eileen says. "It is a personal goal of mine to draw upon my experience to help people anticipate the challenges and make the best of the process of moving – from achieving their financial goals to making the many connections it takes to resettle a family in a new community." Eileen has been consistently recognized for client satisfaction and high production. At Lang McLaughry Spera, where Eileen began in real estate, she was name “Rising Star” her first year in the business, and ranked within the top 10 agents for seven consecutive years. In 2010, she received the company’s premier performance award, the Daniel Webster Award, honoring high productivity in both the number and value of properties handled. Eileen has twice earned recognition from the Leading Real Estate Companies of the World for top performance with relocation referrals. In 2011, Eileen moved to Hickok and Boardman and was awarded Coldwell Banker’s International Sterling Society Award for ranking among the top 12% of real estate agents internationally. Most recently in 2013, Eileen was awarded the International President's Elite Society Award for ranking among the top 3% internationally. Eileen is among five percent of Realtors nationally who have earned the CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) designation. Prior to working in real estate, Eileen was Director of Marketing and Communications for Saint Michael's College, a position she previously held at Dominican University of California. She has prior experience as a writer and manager in corporate and agency public relations and marketing, and as a reporter and editor in newspaper and magazine journalism. She attended the College of William & Mary and holds a B.A. in English Literature and Journalism from the University of Delaware. Eileen values giving back to the community and supporting the arts, education and business endeavors. She is a 2004 graduate of the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce (LRCC) “Leadership Champlain” program, an active member of the Burlington Business Association, a trustee for the Vermont Symphony Orchestra, and she volunteers for the United Way and the Champlain Housing Trust. Eileen has lived in South Burlington, Shelburne, and Bolton, VT. In addition to selling real estate, she enjoys hiking, skiing, yoga, travel and reading. Of choosing Vermont as home, she says, “I love the ‘small city’ quality of Burlington, the history of New England, and the incredible beauty of the Vermont landscape. With mountains, lake and one of the most vibrant downtown centers in the country, this is a fabulous place to live a full and enriching life.”
