Abstract:

A biometric water mixing valve uses a measured biometric characteristic to identify a user and to identify the user's preferred output water temperature and/or output water volume. Hot and cold water flow are mixed in amounts required to yield an output discharge temperature that the identified user prefers. By using a biometric characteristic, a preferred discharge water temperature and/or volume can be achieved merely by having the biometric characteristic scanned.

Abstract:

The opportunistic data download method determines a preferred download time to download the accumulated data from a personal digital apparatus, such as a wristwatch-type device with sensors. The personal digital apparatus then polls for the download device at the download time. The personal digital apparatus may be Bluetooth-compliant and use the Bluetooth auto-discovery process as the polling operation. If the polling operation is unsuccessful at the download time, the polling operation is attempted at an updated download time. If the updated download time is a time during which the polling operation is successful, this time is used for downloading the accumulated data to the download device for all subsequent download operations.

Abstract:

The present disclosure broadly discloses an operating system (OS) management service for a cloud platform of a cloud provider (CP). The OS management service may be configured for receiving OS version information indicative of a plurality of OS versions of an OS available from an OS provider, receiving OS image information indicative of a plurality of OS images of the OS made available by the CP within the cloud platform, receiving VM OS information indicative of a plurality of VMs of the cloud platform that are running the OS available from the OS provider, and initiating a management a based on various combinations of the OS version information, the OS image information, and the VM OS information. The OS management service may be provided by an OS management server of the cloud platform, which may be implemented as a database server or other suitable system.
