Abstract:

Systems and methodologies for improved query classification and processing are provided herein. As described herein, a query prediction model can be constructed from a set of training data (e. g. , diagnostic data obtained from an automatic diagnostic system and/or other suitable data) using a machine learning-based technique. Subsequently upon receiving a query, a set of features corresponding to the query, such as the length and/or frequency of the query, unigram probabilities of respective words and/or groups of words in the query, presence of pre-designated words or phrases in the query, or the like, can be generated. The generated features can then be analyzed in combination with the query prediction model to classify the query by predicting whether the query is aimed at a head Uniform Resource Locator (URL) or a tail URL. Based on this prediction, an appropriate index or combination of indexes can be assigned to answer the query.

Abstract:

Techniques are disclosed for providing a domain-aware snippet for a search result. With such techniques, a domain classification component is provided for identifying a template used to generate a plurality of web pages of a domain, associating the template and content of the web pages related to the template with a Uniform Resource Locator pattern of the plurality of web pages, and storing the associated template, the related content, and the Uniform Resource Locator pattern in a database. A snippet extraction component is also provided for extracting text from a section of a web page of the plurality of web pages for a snippet of a search result corresponding to a search query, wherein the extracted text is based on a ranking value of the section and the relevance of the extracted text to the search query.

Abstract:

Techniques are disclosed for providing a domain-aware snippet for a search result. A uniform resource locator (URL) is identified for a search result obtained in response to a search query, and it is determined that the URL corresponds to a single domain that has a plurality of web pages that are generated using a template that is common to each of the web pages in the domain. The template comprises a hypertext markup language (HTML) layout pattern that includes multiple sections shared by the web pages. A ranking value is assigned to the multiple sections and is used to identify a first section of the template that is relevant to the search query. A snippet is provided to a user for the search result; the snippet includes at least a portion of text from the first section.

The present disclosure describes a system and method to manage image file storage that includes a memory device to store instructions and at least one processing device to execute the instructions stored in the memory device to determine a blur indication or a burst characteristic for each of a plurality of files stored on a storage medium, automatically identify candidate image files to delete based at least in part on the blur indication or the burst characteristic, and delete at least some of the candidate image files based on receiving a delete indication.

Abstract:

Live manifest update techniques are described. In one or more implementations, data streams of media content are provided to computing devices by a service provider. During playback of the data streams, a manifest associated with the data streams is updated by the service provider effective to cause the computing devices to transition to playing back the data streams using the updated manifest without restarting playback of the data streams. In one or more implementations, a data stream of media content is played back at a computing device. During playback of the data steam, a manifest monitoring module at the computing device monitors for updates to a manifest associated with the data stream. Responsive to detecting an update to the manifest, the computing device seamlessly transitions to playing back the data stream using the updated manifest without restarting playback of the data stream.
