Abstract:
According to some embodiments, a graphics platform may receive a video signal, including an image of a person, from a video camera. The graphics platform may then add a virtual object to the video signal to create a viewer or broadcast signal. D information associated with a spatial relationship between the person and the virtual object is determined. The graphics platform may then create a supplemental signal based on the D information, wherein the supplemental signal includes sufficient information to enable the person to interact with the virtual object as if such object was ‘seen’ or sensed from the person's perspective. The supplemental signal may comprise video, audio and/or pressure all as necessary to enable the person to interact with the virtual object as if he/she were physically present with the virtual object.

Abstract:
A column type bonded strain gage load cell having improved linearity and output is achieved using a column having a pair of opposed transverse bores which create a web therebetween. The web has a relatively high strain as compared to the circumferential strain of an unbored column. Strain gages bonded to the web, in combination with strain gages bonded at selected regions on the column provide improved linearity and increased output.
Apparatus for measuring tensile strength of hair samples in which the test is controlled automatically to provide the average value of a plurality of hair samples. The apparatus is digitally controlled to provide a rapid testing cycle time. Tension is applied by a pivoted arm, and rotated by a solenoid that is controlled digitally to provide substantially constant velocity to the arm. A strain gage secured to the arm measures the force extended by the arm in tensioning the hair sample.
