Abstract:

A front brake master cylinder relocation kit which may be used for example on Harley-Davidson. RTM. motorcycles. The kit includes a master cylinder; a brake cable; a hand lever capable of being mounted on a handlebar; a brake hose; a mounting bracket, for mounting the master cylinder on a motorcycle; and a package for accommodating the master cylinder, the brake cable, the hand lever, the brake hose, and the mounting bracket. The master cylinder includes a brake cable connector; an actuator lever; an actuator device, operatively connected to the actuator lever; an oil container inside the master cylinder for accommodating hydraulic oil; and a brake hose connector operatively connected to the oil container. The package may be provided with assembly instructions for the kit.

Abstract:

A fastening device for continually taking up slack in a strip of abrasive paper wound helically about a rotatable drum sander. Rotation of the drum sander tends to cause the helical abrasive strip to tighten its wrap about the drum and to cause a linear extension or slack in the strip. The fastening device is spring biased to continually tighten the strip to take up any slack that may develop.

Abstract:

A belt guide member for guiding an abrasive belt on a rotary drum sander. The belt guide member includes a slot for accommodating an edge of the abrasive belt. The belt guide member may have two slots, such that when one slot of the member has been used and is worn out, the other slot can be used by turning around the member. A ridge between the slots helps prevent the edge of the belt from folding over between the slots. The member may have a magnet at its bottom face for attaching to the sander and for facilitating removal and exchange of the member. The belt guide member may be manufactured from a ceramic material.

Abstract:

A drum sander (10) for woodworking which may be used in combination with a radial arm saw (25). The drum sander (10) includes a horizontal, rotatable sanding cylinder (31) which is supported above a work table (20). The wood (not shown) to be sanded is inserted beneath the sanding cylinder (31) on top of the work table (22). The sanding cylinder is supported, in two different embodiments, by either one (17) or two (17 and 55) vertical supports. The sanding cylinder (31) is also supported, in two different embodiments, by either a horizontal carriage arm (11) or a carrier bracket (52). The drum sander (10) also includes a slide fastener (34) which attaches the sandpaper strips (60) onto the sanding cylinder (31). Also disclosed is a removable dust collector (16) which covers the upper portion of the sanding cylinder (31) and is connected to the hose (49) of a vacuum.

Abstract:

A drum sanding machine having a vertically-adjustable sanding drum mounted over a conveyor, where the sanding drum is direct-coupled to an AC drive motor. The conveyor includes an endless loop belt connected to a variable speed DC motor, and a feedback circuit is connected to monitor the AC drive motor current and to develop a feedback signal to slow the DC motor when the AC motor drive current exceeds a predetermined value.
