Abstract:
A method for enhancing the cooling efficiency of a computer room air conditioning unit, in a data center, is provided. Raised floor panels are carried on a pedestal support system. The floor panels divide a data center, into upper and lower plenums. A cold aisle is includes air-grate floor panels. The computer room air conditioning unit is operated to condition a heated hot aisle return air flow. A server rack has a front, a back, and side rack support frame members. The support members define an interior server compartment. At least one damper door frame has a top, a bottom and side members. The door frame members define at least one open air flow panel portion. A series of horizontal damper blade members are pivotally mounted in the open panel portion. The damper blade members are pivoted to direct a stream of the conditioned air flow over heat generating components contained in the interior server compartment in order to elevate the temperature of the heated return airflow at the air conditioning unit.
Air-Grate Floor Panel Sub-Plenum Retrofit Add On Multi-Directional Plume
Disclosed is the redirection of air flow in a sub-plenum using a multi-directional plume that is attached to the bottom surface of an air-grate floor panel. The air-grate floor panel has openings which allow redirected air to flow in an upward direction to cool computer equipment, including servers. The multi-directional plume has a series of vanes that are disposed in various different directions to deflect a flow of air conditioning air through a sub-plenum in a vertical direction to flow through openings in the air-grate floor panel. Since the multi-directional plume is capable of redirecting air from various different directions in the sub-plenum, the air-grate floor panels do not have to be repositioned to capture air flow from any particular direction.

A retrofit airfoil for attachment to at least one of the girder members of an open-box load bearing frame supporting an air-grate raised access floor panel is provided. The open box flame includes a plurality of longitudinally spaced apart vertical girder-plate members and a plurality of longitudinally spaced apart transverse vertical reinforcing rib-plate members. The airfoil includes a sheet. The sheet has an upper edge, a lower edge, and a horizontal bend formation positioned along a longitudinal axis established therebetween. The bend formation defines an upper vertical face, and a lower inclined face. The upper vertical face includes a plurality of tongue and groove formations adapted for interlocking fitment with the vertically extending transverse reinforcing rib-plate members, so that the sheet is capable of being slidably attached to at least one of the girder members with the upper edge being positioned adjacent to the lower surface of the top plate. The vertical face of the sheet also includes at least one retainer to secure the vertical face of the sheet to the girder member.
Honestly, that's far more churlish than Telluride's co-directing triumvirate Tom Luddy, Gary Meyer and Julie Huntsinger would ever be in addressing the fact that earlier this year, the utterly vital and massive Toronto International Film Festival (Sept. 4-14) laid down the law.
