Abstract:
A continuous process for reusing scrap polyurethane involves the following stages: Chips of thermoset polyurethane foam are supported as a bed; the bed of chips while moving is heated; the bed of chips while moving is subjected to pressure or compression; and a web is formed. The resulting material is useful in many industrial applications, including padding, gaskets, and insulation.

Abstract:
This invention relates to methods and apparatus for producing a discretely striped, multi-property foam and the products and articles produced thereby. The invention provides a pre-foam stream at a first pressure and intermittently injects at least one additive into the pre-foam stream at a pressure higher than the first pressure, providing a laminar flow pre-foam stream with alternating segments having different properties. The pre-foam stream is poured onto a surface and cures into a discretely striped foam product which may be used for many purposes such as but not limited to padding, clothing, toys, or bedding.

Abstract:
In accordance with the present invention, a golf putter and method of adjustment of the golf putter are provided. The golf putter includes two threaded connections, one between a weighting element and a putter head, and one between a screw fastener and a replaceable striking surface attachment. The weighting element may be attached to the putter head by manual manipulation. The striking surface attachment may be attached to the putter head by a magnetic connection or any other attachment means suitable for easy replacement during a practice or experimentation mode, and is further configured to be attached to a screw fastener using a tool such that the golf putter is in compliance with rules. The screw fastener passes through the weighting element so that it locks the weighting element simultaneously when affixing the striking surface attachment, thus rendering the weighting element non-removable without the use of a tool.

Abstract:
A stack emission control system utilized to remove organic contaminants as water-soluble solids from air collected from the vicinity of a polyurethane foam line assembly prior to the exhaust of the air into the surrounding atmosphere is described. A conventional packed tower scrubber is utilized containing an inert material as packing and pH-adjusted water as the wash fluid. The pH-adjusted water serves to remove essentially all of the organic contaminants as water-soluble solids from the air prior to exhaust of the air. The contaminant water-soluble solids are then readily separable from the pH-adjusted water by post-treatment to allow for the separate disposal of the essentially contaminant-free water and the contaminant solids.

Abstract:
Flexible polyurethane foams based on a blend of polyether and polyester polyols are described. The polyurethane foams of the invention have at least one of (a) enhanced pourability of a predominantly polyether foam; (b) flame laminability to a predominantly polyether foam without having as an essential ingredient an additive; (c) improved flame retardancy of a predominantly polyether or polyester foam; (d) improved hydrolytic stability to a predominantly polyester foam, or (e) increased softness to a predominantly polyether or polyester foam.
