Abstract:

A cross-flow filter assembly () including: a cylindrical filter () having an inner periphery () enclosing filter region () extending along an axis (X) from an opposing feed end () and an effluent end (); and a cleaning assembly () axially-aligned within the filter region () and comprising at least one radially extending cleaning member () biased against the inner periphery () of the filter (), wherein the cleaning assembly () is adapted to rotate about the axis (X) to remove debris from the inner periphery () of the filter (); and is characterized by a compressive member () providing a continuous radially outward force that biases the cleaning member () against the inner periphery () of the porous screen ().
