Abstract:
A bowstring silencer includes a weight component and a silencer component, the silencer component secured to the weight component and including a plurality of relatively flexible projections; the weight component adapted to be clamped about a bowstring. The weight component may be formed as a pair of generally semi-spherical ball halves that are secured together about the silencer component and a bowstring by suitable fasteners.
A bowstring release glove includes an elongated wrist wrap portion adapted to surround and be detachably secured to a users wrist; a palm grip portion carrying a bowstring release, the palm grip portion fixedly secured at one end to the wrist wrap portion and detachably secured at an opposite end to the wrist wrap portion. The palm grip portion and the bowstring release are movable between operative and inoperative positions while the wrist wrap portion remains secured to the users wrist.

Abstract:
A bowstring release includes a main body portion; a pair of jaws pivotably mounted within the housing for movement between closed and open positions; a piston and firing pin assembly slidably mounted in the housing and biased in a firing direction by a first spring, the piston and firing pin assembly operatively connected to the jaws; a cocking slide mounted for sliding movement along a top surface of the housing, the cocking slide engageable with the piston for moving the piston to a cocked position; a sear pivotably mounted within the housing, one end of which is engageable with the piston; and a trigger pivotably mounted in the housing, the trigger having a projection engageable with an opposite end of the sear; the sear biased against the projection in a non-firing direction by a second spring; the projection, when the trigger is pulled, moving the sear in a firing direction to enable the one end to disengage the piston and thereby permit the piston and firing pin assembly to move forward in a firing direction to cause the jaws to move to the open position.

Abstract:
A triggerless back tension release for use with a bow string includes a handle portion including at least two finger grooves with a post extending substantially perpendicularly away from the handle portion; a two-link release head assembly secured to a fork rotatably secured in the post for rotation about a longitudinal axis of the post, the two-link release head assembly including an intermediate link pivotably mounted on said fork and a forward link pivotably mounted to said intermediate link; a rope loop having two free ends secured to the forward link; and a sear pivotably secured to the forward link, the sear having a hook adapted to receive the rope loop. The free ends of the rope loop are secured to the forward link at a location closely adjacent the hook and forward of the pivot axis, such that, when the rope loop is wrapped about a bow string and slipped over the hook, a gap between doubled-back strands of the rope between the bow string and the release head remains substantially constant or increases in a direction toward the bow string.

A rope loop having two free ends is secured to the forward link. A sear is pivotably secured to the forward link, the sear having a hook adapted to receive the rope loop. A substantially triangularly shaped pawl is fixed to the intermediate link and arranged to engage an edge of the sear and to release the sear upon relative movement between the pawl and the sear.

Abstract:
A triggerless back tension release for use with a bow string comprising a handle; a release head assembly including a rope loop and a first component pivotally mounted relative to a portion of the handle, the first component carrying a sear element having a sear edge and a hook adapted for receiving the rope loop; a locking rod located in the handle portion and actuated by a lever in the handle portion to engage and lock a second component of the release head assembly relative to the handle portion, the second component arranged to interact with the sear edge and to release the sear element and thereby release the bow string upon movement of the handle portion.

Abstract:
A device to hold and release a bowstring includes a part that can be locked, held in position, or caused to move with a user-held portion such as a handle. A back tension release device can, for example, include a handle portion; a release assembly on the handle portion with a part of the release assembly able to pivot relative to the handle portion; and a locking mechanism. A user holding the handle portion, with the release assembly holding a bowstring, can control the locking mechanism. When unlocked, the locking mechanism allows the part to pivot, but, when locked, the locking mechanism locks it so that the part moves with the handle portion. The part can, for example, be a pawl head that, when locked, moves with the handle and releases a sear element.
