Abstract:

A location of a calling party is provided to a called party. The location can be provided if the calling party is using a mobile communications device or a wireline system. The location of the calling party can be provided in a hierarchy of various levels of accuracy/precision representative of different geographies provided by a service provider. The choice of levels for each received call or all received calls can be configurable by the called party. The called party may subscribe to a service that provides the location information. The called party may have the option to receive location information on a per call basis. The calling party may be asked for consent. Location information can be provided for any appropriate type of call, such as, for example, voice calls, text based calls (e. g. , SMS messages), or the like. In an example configuration, the SS7 network is utilized.

Party location based services can be provided to the called party, to the calling party, or both. Services can include an indication of the location of each party. Abstract:

A method and apparatus for accessing contact records in an electronic device with multiple operation perimeters is provided. When accessing contact records from within one operation perimeter, only contact information accessible from that operation perimeter is retrieved. An option is provided to also access contact records of an alternative operation perimeter. If the alternative operation perimeter has a higher security level than the current operation perimeter, a password or other authorization may be required. The contact records may be accessed, for example, to find information for an outgoing communication, to identify information associated with an incoming communication, or to edit a contact record.

Abstract:

A current steering circuit diverts bias current from a differential current summing amplifier's front end when the differential input exceeds a safe threshold level, thus preventing the amplifier's output stage from being overdriven. Diverting the front end's bias currents also turns off transistors within the amplifier's front end and thus protects the front end from damage which may otherwise result from excessive input signals.

Abstract:

An amplifier includes an amplifying circuit and bias current circuit. The bias current circuit includes a beta matching circuit which employs a temperature compensated current reference to develop a bias current for the amplifying circuit. The beta matching circuit is connected to track the current gains of transistors within the amplifying circuit and to thereby provide a temperature compensated bias current to the amplifying circuit. The bias current maintains a fixed bias point regardless of temperature-induced, or other, variations of the current gains of the amplifying circuit's transistors.
