Abstract:

The invention is based on new methods for making and using compounds and arrays of novel -ketoamides, and the arrays and compounds made by these methods. These novel compounds are potential inhibitors of proteolytic enzymes, particularly cysteine proteases such as cruzain. Application of the new methods has led to the identification of a number of new inhibitors, from amongst an array of about 38,000 -ketoamide derivatives, having specific activity against three cysteine proteases: cruzain, papain, and cathepsin B. These compounds and other compounds identified by the methods described herein can be useful, for example, in developing pharmaceutical agents for the treatment of diseases (e. g. , Chagas disease) associated with these proteases. Although the disclosed compounds have specific activity for cruzain, papain, cathepsin B, the methods described herein can also be used to identify inhibitors of other proteases.

Abstract:

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may establish connectivity to a local area network using cellular radio access technology (RAT). The UE may establish a signaling radio link with a cellular access node (AN) via a cellular RAT. The UE may transmit a connectivity request to a network node via the signaling radio link. The connectivity request may specify a connectivity type for establishing connectivity to a LAN. Based at least in part on an acceptance of the connectivity request, the UE may establish a data radio link with the cellular AN. In an example, the acceptance of the connectivity request may include at least one parameter for configuring the connectivity to the LAN. The UE may then establish a data flow for exchanging data link layer packets with the LAN via the data radio link.

Abstract:

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide a mechanism for a wireless node to identify resources that are controlled by a different wireless node in the wireless backhaul communications network and in some cases autonomously transmit certain transmissions using resources of the different wireless node. A first wireless node may receive signaling that indicates whether such transmissions may be autonomously transmitted via configuration information or a flag provided in signaling to the first wireless node. The first wireless node may in some cases determine that autonomous transmissions are enabled based on a type of communication or node that provides the information for the transmissions from the first wireless node. In some cases, a priority associated with the transmissions may be used to determine whether autonomous transmissions are enabled.
