A user equipment (UE) in a vehicle, or a road side unit, may broadcast an inter-vehicle message for a driving maneuver to be executed by the vehicle. The inter-vehicle message may be a coordinated driving maneuver request requiring acceptance from another vehicle or an informational message for the intended driving maneuver. The inter-vehicle message includes a temporal execution window defining a range of time during which the driving maneuver will be initiated. A temporal window defining a range of time during which the driving maneuver will be completed may also be included. A spatial window defining a range of distance for a start and/or stop location for the driving maneuver may also be completed. The vehicle may execute the driving maneuver within the temporal execution window, e.g., if a driving maneuver response is received before the expiration of the temporal execution window, and will otherwise cancel the driving maneuver.

Sidelink-Based Positioning Using Sidelink Signaling
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. An initiator user equipment (UE) may broadcast, via a sidelink connection to a set of target UEs, a group sidelink communication request that includes a sidelink ranging service identifier. The group sidelink communication request may further include a broadcast identifier or a groupcast identifier. The initiator UE may establish, via the sidelink connection, a set of unicast sidelink sessions with the set of target UEs. some examples, the initiator UE may transmit, via the sidelink connection, a set of position reference signal requests via the set of unicast sidelink sessions to initiate a set of sidelink ranging sessions. The initiator UE may then receive, via the sidelink connection, a set of position reference signal responses from the set of target UEs during each of the plurality of sidelink ranging sessions.
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In a wireless communications system, one or more user equipments (UEs) may implement distance-limited sidelink-based ranging techniques. An initiating UE may transmit one or more positioning reference signal (PRS) request messages to one or more target UEs via a sidelink channel. In some cases, the initiating UE may receive one or more response messages from at least one target UE that is located within a threshold distance from the initiating UE. In some examples, based on receiving the one or more response messages, the initiating UE may transmit PRSs to each target UE that transmitted a response message.

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for sensing window configuration for sidelink based ranging and positioning. For example, during sidelink-based ranging or sensing, a user equipment (UE) may determine the relative distance or position with other UEs. This may be realized by a UE broadcasting a wideband position reference signal (PRS) on an unlicensed band and measuring the round-trip time associated with a peer UE's PRS. The measurement accounts for a PRS transmission time transmitted by each UE. The UE may apply a sensing window to determine whether a neighboring UE has reserved PRS transmission times. The present disclosure provides methods and techniques for a network entity to configure a sensing window in a UE so that the UE may determine, during the sensing window, whether neighboring UEs have reserved a PRS transmission time.
