A sanitizing apparatus for writing utensils comprising a housing assembly and an ultraviolet and ozone generating assembly housed therein. The housing assembly comprises a top wall, a base and four walls. The first and second walls are perpendicularly disposed with respect to the third and fourth walls. The third and fourth walls are lateral walls. The housing assembly also comprises an angled wall that protrudes outwardly beyond the top wall and beyond the first wall defining a tray that terminates with a lip for preventing the writing utensil from falling off. A battery compartment is also housed within the housing assembly. The ultraviolet and ozone generating assembly radiates the writing utensil within the housing assembly with rays and ozone, to effectively sterilize bacteria and biological germs existing on the writing utensil. A visual indicator notifies a user when the ultraviolet and ozone generating assembly is operating.

Abstract:
Water-wettable anhydrous products, such as the powders and creams used in cosmetic and drug products, are admixed with 20 to 60% by weight, based on the weight of the total formulation, of a powdered polyethylene or powdered polypropylene polymer, to improve wettability characteristics. Denture adhesive powders prepared from an anionic/cationic adhesive combination, together with the powdered polyethylene or polypropylene polymer display particularly improved properties. The polyethylene or polypropylene polymer may also be admixed with other anhydrous products including dentifrices, vaginal powder sprays, and the like. Low molecular weight polyethylene powder, with an average molecular weight of from 1,000 to 3,500, is suitable for use in products of the invention. For the polypropylene, a molecular weight of from 120,000 to 350,000 is specified. The powdered polymers have a particle size of less than 422 microns.
Method Of Characterizing The Colored Appearance Of A Gemstone
The inventive method, which provides an accurate, objective and readily reproduceable characterization of the total colored appearance of a gemstone, includes the steps of identifying the main and overlay colors of an illuminated gemstone from among a predetermined set of primary colors by comparison of the stone with a series of reference color charts representing standard samples of the primary colors and of composite mixtures of the primary colors, identifying by comparison the proportion of overlay color to main color in each stone with respect to such proportion in the selected color chart to determine the overlay level, identifying the color saturation of the composite coloration of the gemstone by comparison with the selected color chart to determine the zone of coloration of the stone, and overlaying a color mask and the selected color chart to identify the degree of color masking present in the gemstone.
